I took a trike ride through Portland, Oregon today and this is one of several that I will be posting on “the big city”.
For me summer holiday memories are all about bare feet, the sea, the smell of aerogard and barbeques, and long days and warm nights often spent in a caravan park by the ocean. This piece is about all of that, but I also wanted to infuse it with a bit of darkness and mystery …Holiday villages are so full of life and colourful characters by day, but at night when all have gone to bed and secured their temporary little homes, they can be quite strange and creepy…
We all spend a part of each day, just waiting for something…a phone call…a bus to come…the traffic to move…the kettle to boil…a holiday…a pay rise…love…happiness…success…a file to upload. / Perhaps you’ve been waiting your whole life for something to happen? / Or maybe it’s just about to…any minute now.
My dad asked me to paint seagulls on his painting, because he liked the bird I painted in the past. / Animals / Birds / Drawings / Flowers / Water / Holiday / Paintings / Sunsets / Autumn

I try always to use bold colours and powerful lines but still get a harmonic symphony of colours and forms. One of a series of pool scene paintings which deal with the beauty and life of the modern day women. This one I started with acrylic on paper ( 42 cm / 60 cm ) and finished it with watercolour pencil. Finally , I’d just like to thank you anyone who’s viewed , commented and rated mywork!!!

After it rained one day, the sun started shining… and a cool breeze went through the pine trees in my backyard…
I picked out these roses for my father to give my mother for Valentine’s Day. They’re such a deep red color and the petals are velvety…almost black. I love those type of roses. I used a really low white balance when I shot this to give it a more bluish tone. Enjoy!
How I stay cool in the oz heat… :) Air conditioners are bad for our environment and our health… / oh, and electric bill :) / Grab a fan instead!

Well, kind of. This is as near to an apocalyptic scene as Cleethorpes is ever likely to get. Until the apocalypse, that is. But that’s not coming for at least 2 years, so this will do in the meantime.
Last of the dandelions….
Tiny mysterious flower that are in my backyard… Enjoy!
Something from the springtime to make me happy… These were little Persian violets that I love, but I couldn’t keep them alive for very long. Enjoy!
Another experiment with metallic blue paper as a background and the flash on my camera… haha, I guess it worked well. I never use my flash, so that’s why this is so experimental, hehe. It’s also the stamen of a hibiscus.
