  • ...and she bakes! :P White Chocolate Star Cookies ½ c butter/marg / ½ c caster sugar / dash of vanilla extract / ¾ c white choc melted / 1 egg, beaten / 2 cups plain flour# / ½ teaspoon baking powder so you cream the butter and sugar, add the vanilla and then mix in the melted choclate well before adding the egg. / then sift flour and baking powder. / wrap dough in plastic and refrigerate for 30 mins. / roll out to about 5mm thickness. #i found i needed more flour to work with as the stars i cut weren’t keeping their shape. plus it was humid, so you might need to add some more, no need to knead it (!), just get it happening and workable. bake in preheated 180° oven for 15 mins, or until golden. decorating: / i just dipped half in some melted white (and milk) chocolate, and then sprinkled, 100s & 1000s, coconut, drinking chocolate. you could also try chopped nuts, crushed toffee, all sorts of things. be sure to fire up your baking paper piping bags!

  • Control
    by Aisha Diandra

    US$4.99–US$114.00

Another piece for my photography final, “Fragmented Self-Image” (yes you will be seeing more!). Perhaps this is self explanatory…perhaps not… / Ideally, there would be another image before this one leading to my control over my eating disorder, however I think the image works by itself as control over eating and food. This shot took way too long to do… / I don’t know how many times I dropped that cookie or my camera remote and had to unbind myself just so I could pick it up…

  • Sugar High
    by Shannon Rene' Justice

    US$3.99–US$91.20

A friend asked me to do something cute and cuddley to offset all of the dark and morbid works that have been filling the bubble lately….if this doesn’t do it, I’m putting away the pencils!

  • There was a bit of experimentation going on in this one for me. Watercolor, charcoal, colored pencil, pencil, marker, ink, and a wonderful photo of my not so handsome face were used to pull this thing together. Quite surprisingly, I don’t hate it. I know, I know…me not hating something that I’ve done is no doubt the first sign of the coming apocalypse. I’m sorry that a pathetic self portrait by a nobody you’ve never met had to bring forth armageddon, but I guess that’s just the way the cookie crumbles. Or I suppose the way the earth crumbles…as the case may be.
