  • A re-work of previously posted image. I love the work of Helene Kippert and PepperPepper – they both put a wonderful organic feel into their work. So here, in my own way, I’ve hoped to give this image a new life. / Thank H & P for your inspiration :) For enquires about canvas prints, or photographic prints larger than Redbubble options, please contact me via bubblemail

  • Elephant Rocks, Willian Bay National Park, / Denmark, Western Austalia. An awesome place to recharge your batteries. For enquires about canvas prints, or photographic prints larger than Redbubble options, please contact me via bubblemail

  • This little girls mother was sitting on the pavement, just out of the frame. The girl stood there for ages just taking everything in. I guess this is her life and she may never know any different.

  • “A mind, like a home, is furnished by its owner, so if one’s life is cold and bare he can blame none but himself.” Louis L’Amour (1908 – 1988) If you would like to purchase any of my art in a larger format, please contact me. Other works by Earthairfire:

  • On the beach at sunrise on West Island, over looking Pulu Maria, Cocos Islands. / Arriving at the beach with the promise of another stunning day, my husband turned off the car key, reclined the seat and went back to sleep! • Thanks to our quirky resident curious beasts artist Kaitlin for a bit of a retro cooking disaster in the tub… entire bathtub portraiture series=

  • Tucked amongst the trees by the ocean, “The Shack” sums up the essence of the Cocos Islands for me. A hut for surfers, a deck chair in the shade, warm breeze, driftwood, surf and sand between my toes. Well maybe a few mozzies too! Here exists a culture hard to find elsewhere; one of respect, where you can leave your surfboard and towel and come back to it a day later, a month later. • Elephant Rocks, William Bay National Park, Western Australia (near Denmark) This national park is one of my favourite places on Earth. I was lucky to visit recently with my sister, climbing around the rocks and beaches for hours. Only we had to share it with a few snakes that were making the most of the spring sunshine! • The more you wriggle….the longer this will take. —-—-—-—-—-——- / Self portrait …..cooking. Canon 30D

  • Elephants Rocks, Denmark, Western Australia. For Beth, my twin-sis. Another image from one of my favourite places. The day of our visit, it amazed me how many people stood on the top of these rocks and then turned back to the carpark, missing the view of the rocks from this point and all the wonderful coastline around the corner. Still, that means we had it to ourselves!! For enquires about canvas prints, or photographic prints larger than Redbubble options, please contact me via bubblemail

  • I love rainy, overcast, windy days. Someone has to, I suppose. The pink/purple of the fireweed has yet to reach its full splendor. As Alaskan legend has it, when fireweed blooms all the way to the top of its spire – the six-week countdown to winter begins. Some of us can hardly wait. It felt great to get out in the elements! Featured in DSLR Users Only – An honor. Thank you. Featured in Alaska ~ Beyond Your Dreams – An honor. Nikon D200, Nikkor 70-300mm, 70mm, F/11, 1/200, -0.67 exposure compensation, ISO 200, manual exposure mode, monopod, rain snood. Converted from RAW (12 bit) to jpeg using Nikon’s Capture NX 2.1.1. Cokin two-f/stop ND grad filter. / Fireweed, genus Epilobium, especially E. angustifolium, has long, terminal, spikelike clusters of pinkish-purple flowers. _A moment alone (early spring) /

  • Sandhill cranes prepare to fly to warmer climes. Clouds enshroud the Kenai mountains behind them as they fly over Cook Inlet. I had this printed quite large and feel delighted with the clarity of the cranes! Dedicated to Australia’s Barbara Burkhardt, with whom I had tea and a moment of joy. Wonderful subtle sense of humor (humour).. I feel fortunate to have met this adventuous, talented woman and her handsome husband as they toured Alaska. I assume all Australians are as fun. Nikon D200, Nikkor 18-200mm VR, 3771×2523 px Featured in Alaska ~ Beyond Your Dreams – an honor Geese returning last spring against the same Kenai mountains without the cloud cover / Sandhill cranes catching a thermal over Cook Inlet / High tide at about 9 p.m. last night /

  • Tom Uglys and the Captain Cook bridges by David Petranker Strong westerly winds across NSW have generated one of the most spectacular dust storms in the history of Sydney according to the Weather Channel. An orange haze has covered the city, reducing visibility, causing transport problems and creating health concerns for those with respiratory problems. “This is the biggest dust storm I have ever seen in Sydney,” says Dick Whitaker, senior meteorologist at The Weather Channel with more than 40 years of meteorological experience. “The last dust storm to hit Sydney was in October 2002 but it was nowhere as big as the one we are seeing today.” “The storm is as a consequence of an extended period of strong winds and very dry conditions over western NSW. We are looking at it gradually improving later this morning to early afternoon but it should remain hazy all day.” Leader readers have been quick to grab the abundance of photo opportunities this morning. Sydney woke to the red haze as dust blown in from western NSW caused havoc. All citybound lanes on the M5 East tunnel were closed earlier this morning while ferries were cancelled and some trains were delayed. Even a horse racing meeting at Canterbury Park racecourse had to be cancelled today. Passengers at Sydney Airport were told to expect significant delays and motorists should take extra care throughout the day because of harsh weather conditions. Sutherland SES spokesman John Gonzalez said volunteers had taken away fallen trees at Kareela and Menai. Matt Kirby at Kogarah SES said his team removed trees at Hurstville, Blakehurst and Rockdale. Primary schools in St George and Sutherland Shire are also taking precautions, keeping children in classrooms until the dust settles. Students from Our Lady of Fatima Primary School at Caringbah, were among many advised by teachers to remain inside with the windows closed. http://www.theleader.com.au/news/local/news/general/dust-storm-loses-puff/1631494.aspx
