It has been rainning non stop for 3 days…..hugh waves at sea. So I decide it was time to get out and see the ocean at Clovelly and Coogee, see how big the swell are. My first foray out to Coogee Pool. I have been wanting to shoot this location for a while now. The lighting is pretty weird here, different temperature lights all over the place. I ended up having to do do 3 raw conversions on this image to correct for casts at different areas of the photo (and then blend them back together). The surf club sitting up the top is illuminated so perfectly it looks like it has been lit for a movie. I like the partial reflection of the surf club in the water as well.
Another shot of Coogee Pool. Long exposure (around 1 minute).
After shooting the pool at the Surf Lifesaving Club. I went for a rock hop around the corner and got to the Ladies pool just after the sun had come over the horizon. For about 15 minutes the sun was a really intense golden colour and lit up the water beautifully.
Went to Coogee beach for a early morning shoot. Very pleased with some of the images.
Shot taken this morning at Coogee, it was a stunning morning to shoot.
Shot in early morning with off camera strobe.

I’ve seen lots of photos of this beachside pool and they always look great. Theres something about the lighting here at sunrise that looks awesome. So I decided to make the early morning trip out to Coogee to give it a go myself. This is the Result. Fotoman 617 / Fuji Velvia 50 Featured in Dawn and Dusk Light September 2009
