MESO #405 / Best viewed large. / / This is a huge cumulus cloud which was associated with a lot of energy and convection under Meso #405, which was issued by the Storms Prediction Center on April 1st, 2007. This severe storm system moved from Kentucky, across the Ohio River, into Ohio and then West Virginia, where large trees were uprooted in Marion. / This was only a small preview for the severe weather outbreak which occurred just two days later on April 3rd, wherein 404 reports of large hail and 176 reports of wind damage were reported throughout several states by the National Weather Service. In conclusion, 17 tornadoes were reported throughout Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, and Indiana. Seven people were injured in Claiborne, Tennessee from an EF1 which swept through the area that day. / / /
