This is yet another Kimberley shot. I was taken my the colour contrasts and starkness of the landscape. This is a pretty small boab tree but contrasted the vivid red dirt and blue sea near Broome.

The Henry Ross Lookout is on the Kennedy Highway (part of the Savannah Way), which cuts its way up the Macalister Range above Smithfield, a township in the Northern Beaches stretch north of Cairns, to Kuranda at the top of the range. The Kennedy Highway affords spectacular views of the low lying areas between the range and the ocean, and also takes one through lush rainforest areas. I took this exposure on a beautiful clear day. Shot at Corio Bay, Geelong. Amazing clouds and perfectly calm. The sun had just gone behind a cloud and this acute contrast was the result. I didn’t do much to this other than a levels adjustment and a crop and straighten. The HDR look happened naturally. / View more of my seascapes at: Landscapes and Seascapes

Long Beach, Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Canada / March, 2008 Taken at Long Beach, just outside of Tofino on Vancouver Island as the sun set on a wet and windy day in March. With all of the dark clouds looming it was wonderful to see how what little light there was washing over the wet sand creating a magical effect.
