A portrait of my very old & most wonderful feline Tia… I found her homeless just barely surviving life along the Ct. River when she was just a young lady, exact age unkown… Her now gorgeous long thick orange-white fur all matted up & knotted.. Her emerald green eyes looking so scared yet full of hope… I coaxed her into my arms & I took her home with me. Oh no I thought… Another responsiblitie in my life is about to accour.. Perhaps I will find her a home I thought.. I cut off her snarled hair to grow again… Picked off the ticks attached to her tiny boney body & bathed her… She consumed lots of food & drink and in less than a day I decided to keep her home with me… She is dble paw-ed in the front with a crackleing high pitched voice & a cry that of a babies. She is extremely feminine and gentle.. She walks like a runway model, one paw placed intently in front of the other and a sultry wiggle to boot… She is a “Cover feature “kind of calendar cat… She is special also because is she is gentle & loving back at me along to other people & other animals of all species… She is special too because she made my quality of life better starting the day she roamed out from the woods along the river & into my life. Did I mention she has the looks of a top leading calender cat? She’s a 10 & is just simply special across the board… :) Thanks for cking her out here..

This is a another shot of a kitten that was looking for a home. I volunteered to photograph them in order to post them online and find homes and I just got news that several adult cats were adopted as well as about 20 kittens. Today we released our first new site-wide challenge The City. This is the latest RedBubble publication where we aim to showcase the best visual and written work on the Web. A TShirt Competition is also on the way. “The City” is open to all works that explore the complex, vibrant world of concrete, glass and humanity that are urban environments all over the world. The best works will be selected for publication in “The City” to come out in November and available for sale through RedBubble. We publish these books regularly as a way for the RedBubble community to showcase their work in a professionally presented and designed book working with a copy editor. It’s one way RedBubble provides opportunities for professional development for its members. Visual works are entered directly into this challenge. from works in your portfolio and then voted on. The top works will be selected for publication. To enter written works go the group RedBubble The City and follow directions. Written works will be shortlisted and voted on by a group of judges. The top written and visual work will receive $US 250 in cash each and a $US 250 RedBubble voucher. Each of the published works will receive a $US 40 voucher to purchase work on RedBubble. We will be increasing the frequency of publication to be able to showcase more of the work on RedBubble and to cover more themes. So expect an announcement soon about what the next publication will be. We are aiming to make the publications, collectible (but affordable) which will mean relatively limited editions and consistent formatting. “Compassion” the most recent publication will be out soon.

I took Serena out on a walk around the farm yesterday and Mica followed her around. Serena is an eight year old Bernese Mountain Dog. Mica is a nine year old kitty that we have had since birth because we rescued a pregnant female cat. The mother cat and her other kittens found a new home together and Mica stayed with us and all our other critters. Serena loves cats and our cats all love her. In less than a second Mica spotted a bird and was off only to return awhile later to continue the walk.

I combined 2 photos for this one. I took both shots at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington D.C. The George Washington statue was located in the back of the Cathedral and the arch way was on the top floor. It kind of reminds me of the Harry Potter movies, lol. Announcing a new Photo Competition. The theme is “Once in a Blue Moon” / Deadline February 28, 2008 You don’t need to have a blue moon in your entry. I am looking more at the phrase “Once in a Blue Moon”, meaning something that doesn’t happen very often (if ever). For example, pigs flying, snow in Los Angeles etc. This is wide open for your imagination. / Requirements: The entries must have been worked on in Photoshop only. No other editing or specialty programs are allowed. See the rules below. / The artwork must be brand new artwork. The purpose of this competition is to encourage people to go out and create something new and different in Photoshop. / Snowdog (winner of last years Blue Moon Photo Comp) and Deon de Waal have graciously volunteered to help me judge this contest.
