“Mimesis” / It’s a word the ancient Greeks used to denote their love of copying nature to perfection, the bronze statues were found in the ocean off the coast of Riace, near Reggio Calabria Italy, they don’t know how they got there and took 8 years to restore them, but they are the best ancient Greek bronzes to ever make it through time. the Female is the viewer beholder, we are looking at her the modern contemporary idea of beauty, as she is looking upon the scene and the ancient idea of beauty, the fish are reminiscing of where the statues lay for thousands of years and are like swimming through time. If you were looking at the actual painting you could see the hairs on her arms, and the oxidation in the bronzes. / the architecture is dated from about the same time 450 bc as the bronze statues.

I have never seen this more true than my own life. As everyday I soften my thinking to better feeling thoughts I experience new vista’s to guide me towards that which I am becoming and that which I desire. This shot was taken of the window of the original Black Springs Bakery building in Beechworth, Victoria, Australia. It has a very french provincial feel to it, though. This was taken in autumn with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera and a 18-55mm lens. So many younger people I meet here are eons past where I was at their age. I like this fact, I know that life keeps getting better and better and more in tuned.
