It’ll be the death of you.
If you look closely you will see this is a savage indictment of our consumeristic society, drawing a more prominent link between cause and effect, a message to consume with caution and diligence. / If you don’t look closely you will see a picture of a man pushing a shopping trolley that has been badly coloured in by a 4 year old with a black marker pen.
I really like this character – I think she looks cool in red! The message is about consumerism and stuff that we don’t really need, just to make us feel better and maybe ignore what the real problem is. To me it’s kind of an epidemic – especially in my generation.
A little image to remind us all of the pressures some people feel in life…especially when they get in, over their head into debt. A readvertising concept by no frills* art. Available as a tee here…
Just one wafer thin mint…
Made after a conversation with my friend David about how he thinks that working is a form of theft. Thanks also to my muse kez for her curatorial suggestions here. / . / . / Based on a photograph released by the Huddersfield University precision technology centre of an ant carrying a 1mm square microchip. / . / . / See Worker Ant – Part 2 / . /
a drawing of a shopping trolley. part of my series called ‘consuming’.
Lies Lies / going by the weekend masses milling about in shopping malls and our growing national credit card debt, presumably many of us are still buying into the lie that material possessions bring happiness, status, popularity, sex or {insert whatever is desirable} check out the ingredients tee range /

That sneaking desire to own the latest of anything and everything, even though there’s nowt wrong with the old one? Or that you don’t even need it to begin with, except so you can say you have it. / It’s all the fault of Miss Paris Hilton. FACT it’s possible there are other forces at work too, but there’s only so much room on a tee, you know how it is. Read all about the inspiration here See the rest of this range

This great stencil by DOLK is on a remaining section of the Berlin Wall – East Germany (Eastside Gallery). You could definitely find a political statement in here if you want to or just enjoy the image for its humor.
Spoon Fed Consumers / A spoon full of consumerism helps the self-loathing go down. / C’mon you can manage another mouthful of global branding!
Eat It Up Kids / I’m aware the greedy rodent analogy has been used before, but having experienced first hand with my children recently the power of global brand marketing, I thought this idea expressed my concerns. Actually physically consuming the brand message has got to be the ultimate result of a targeted campaign. The charity Childwise estimated that children in the UK spend £4.2bn annually. Other figures suggest that children assert an influence over almost 10 times that amount, the term used is Parent Pester Power. / Source: The Guardian
Remembering this new work thing every two days thing is hard work! Anywho… This should be fairly self explanitory. The egyptions were wrong…we can’t take this shit with us. Stop consuming, enjoy life…living over working…Being over consuming…or something like that. Probably not going to move any of these…crucifix and all…but this fell out of that lump of stuff in my head so i figure its ok for show and tell. / Enjoy! Sorry, will look at this description again when not inebriated. Holidays…woohoo! peace! ;)
Just an idea I have had for a while but lacked the talent or skills to bring to life. Kudos to Ross Robinson for carrying it to term! Check out his designs. There is some great work! http://www.redbubble.com/people/rossman72
