Epiphany Of Cosmic Consciousness illustrates a moment of being connected in all ways to all things..the universe. It is a psychospiritual experience I’ve heard many people speak of, that passes all too quickly yet leaves it’s experiencer dazzled. The white horse in the image is symbolic of purity, strength; all the qualities in us that heroically bears our passage. The feathers are a metaphorical reference to the flight of the soul.This image is photo based and has gone through an organic mixed media process. Prints beauifully.

I find some of the most interesting material to photograph in ordinary things that I strive to make extraordinary. Abstracts present ambiguous imagery that provoke the viewer’s imagination to project whatever he or she sees. I am always interested to know what you see in my abstract photographs. Using a Macro lens, I took several shots of the inside of a fallen frond that fell from a Palm tree. I imagined the seeds were a city of people and associated the dark shadow “people” with C.G. Jung’s concept of the shadow that describes the dark side of human nature in individual psyches as well as groups and nations that have a collective shadow which leads to dangerous actions, such as racism, scapegoating, enemy-making and the most destructive of all war. By accepting the dark side of ourselves we can achieve a more genuine and complete self-acceptance, defuse negative emotions that erupt in daily life, release the guilt and shame associated with negativity, recognize the projections that color our opinions about others and heal our relationships through a deeper and more intimate understanding of others and ourselves. Writing, art and dreams are catalysts to reclaim the disowned parts of ourselves. Although many think of the shadow as containing only darkness, as Jung stated, “its essence is pure gold.” He believed there could be no birth of consciousness without pain. Jung wisely stated, “One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light but by making the darkness conscious.” /

On the surface of the world right now there is / war and violence and things seem dark. / But calmly and quietly, at the same time, / something else is happening underground / An inner revolution is taking place / and certain individuals are being called to a higher light. / It is a silent revolution. / From the inside out. Several months ago I was commissioned to do another cover for Conscious Living magazine here in Australia. The theme was to focus on “wild” and in particular….HORSES! / My first thoughts turned to a good friend and talented photographer here on Redbubble – Gene Praag who regularly captures amazing images of the wild horses in his home state of Utah. / And so I asked this fellow bubbler would he be able to help me with REAL wild horse images to work with, as opposed to me taking shots of local domestic horses and pretending they were “wild”. / From this collaboration I generated several pieces of art, and had loads of fun, and I have to say, both Gene and I were surprised at the magazine’s final choice of one of the less artistic images for their cover this issue….. (and yes, before anyone comments, I reckon Equus is spelled differently…lol) so I decided to share with you, one of the other images created from our joint efforts. SO thank you most sincerely to Gene for his generosity and kindness and for being so helpful in this project…... if you haven’t already done so, please take a moment to check out his amazing portfolio of images featuring the wild horses of the USA captured in their natural habitat, and being …... wild and free….. along with many other beautiful landscapes and subjects….. In a vision of St. *John the Divine, God is described as seated on a throne and holding in his right hand a scroll sealed with seven seals. They are usually depicted with riders and symbolize CONQUEST, slaughter, famine and death, all of which will ravage the earth before the end of time.
