Color is the first thing you notice about my work. What makes it ‘pop’ is the placement of color and texture. The primary colors in my palette are derived from the colors in the original rainbow flag which represent sexuality, healing, sun, nature, art, harmony and spirit. As a painter I am a visual storyteller. A message comes with the art – perhaps it is playful, calming, erotic, disturbing, political, or even sacred. I like to flirt with the issues and experiences we face in everyday life, the things we do and the places we go that define our lives. Whether positive, humorous, or thought provoking, my work portrays events people relate to while creating a sense of place for the viewer. Snowstorm on the Lake by RD Riccoboni, acrylic on canvas. I toned down my colors a bit on this one, but for you colorists, its still quite full just muted through the blizzard on the lake near where I spent many years in Connecticut.

You saw the interiors of the Essex Steamtrain in Connecticut with my photographs Sitting Blue and Sitting the Old Fashioned Way now we take a look at the exterior of the wonderful steamtrain. It had such a marvelous antique feel to it, reminded me of a time when this was the mode of travel. Before there were airplanes. So i gave the picture a sepia tone hoping to give the viewer the same feeling i had when i got out of my car and laid my eyes on this steamtrain. /
Red Cardinal hanging out in on a branch at my home.
