Raided my file stock to see what I have got? Weather is not to clever. I desided to HDR single images to see how they would fare? Hope you like it :-) Card / Framed Print /

Sister shot to Reclamation where a rambler’s access to the valley is reclaimed by the ferns, through lack of use. We passed through the gate and headed for the loch down in the valley via the path on the left. As is so often the case whenever I get adventurous, the rains came in and being unsuitably clothed, we beat a hasty retreat back to the campervan. I would’ve loved a shot from the floor of the valley facing back to where we came, but the view was obscured by the rain and cloud. A re-working of a previously published shot. I will donate 100% of proceeds from the sales of this image to The Wildlife Trusts Captured In town location Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. England. About blackbird-sized and striking black-and-white. It has a very distinctive bouncing flight and spends most of its time clinging to tree trunks and branches, often trying to hide on the side away from the observer. Its presence is often announced by its loud call or by its distinctive spring ‘drumming’ display. The male has a distinctive red patch on the back of the head and young birds have a red crown. You see them in Woodlands, especially with mature broad-leaved trees, although mature conifers will support them. Also in parks and large gardens. Will come to peanut feeders and birdtables. Not found in Ireland or the far North of Scotland. Most common in England and Wales. They eat Insects, seeds and nuts.

I’ve been watching these pine cones as they have been growing. This one is about the size of my thumb now, a week ago about the size of my pinky finger. They are extremely sticky… as you can see the sap oozing from several of the little cone fins, a large drop developed at the end, but I don’t think it’s going to fall off, as it is very heavy and gummy. The cones really are this purple right now, too. And I love the color of the new pine sprigs. And check out the spidey web… It is under this tree that I found the two fungi I posted as ‘Fun Guy’.
