This was taken after a Flickr meetup in the Dandenong Ranges earlier this year. Its a grove of trees up in Ferny Creek that I just love to shoot (I have an Autumn shot from here too).

Bec and I took a two night sailing trip on the boat ‘Habibi’ around the Whitsunday Islands. We moored one night in Tongue Bay to see turtles coming up for their morning breath and then scrambled over a ridge to reach Hill Inlet. Unfortunately the tide was high so we were unable to see the whispy sand that’s in all the postcards. Combining this scene with the story of Steve Irwin’s death, the European backpackers on the beach freaked out. Whitehaven Beach is the white strip of sand in the background of this photo. I was interested to hear that due to it possessing some of the world’s most pure and fine sand (~99% silica), it was used in manufacturing the Hubble Telescope’s mirror – in which capacity I’d like to find out. Date Picture Taken: 7/2/2008 / Camera: Canon EOS 350D / Lens: Canon 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM / Polarising Filter

Salisbury is unique amongst medieval English cathedrals, built within one century with no substantial later additions. The building itself is remarkable, a testimony to the faith and practical skills of those who erected it.

My active imagination tells me that Half Dome (on the left) is preaching to the other congregated formations on the right. They look as if today’s lesson is a sober one!

Tammy Soulliere and I were talking about doing a collaboration, so I chose this work of Tammy Soulliere The Holy Trinity to add some of my touches to. I had fun with it and hope it is worthy. The church has a lot of character, I love the architecture, and it was a fine capture by Tammy.

Then appeared bright hope in the sky above. A stirring message, childish yet sober. The congregation – every one of us, stood wild and naked in the breeze. Stunned and rapt were we by it’s music – penitent pinnacles forged by our own folly and pride.
