The Confederation Building is located in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador and serves as the seat of the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly. It was built in 1959 and replaced the Colonial Building. The Confederation Building is built on a hill overlooking the city of St. John’s. The building has 11 stories and is 64 metres tall. It was built at a cost of $9 million. The building underwent major renovations in 1991, which involved moving the legislative chamber from its original home on the ninth floor to a new one on the second. The Confederation Building is also now a complex, with the addition of the West Block which was built in 1982.

Confederate Cavalry soldiers line up to face yet another unrelenting attack of the Union forces. Each man prepares in his own way for the impending death. The horses dutifully will charge into the wall of bullets, not knowing that these will be their last living moments. Just think about it for a moment …... Enlarge the image, look at each man’s face, all appear to be lost in their own thoughts …... of dying.

I debated about putting this on here….I hope that this does not offend anyone…it is not intended to…I am southern and love the south…I respect the men who died for what they believed in…I absolutely do not defend the atrocity of slavery… Having said all that….this was taken at Brices Crossroad’s Confederate Cemetery.
