I can almost say this is as is from camera. Other than I sharpen it a bit and painted got some glitter that was on, it is as it came from the camera. / Taken under tungsten lighting with the camera’s white balance set on daylight to give the photo it’s warm look. MY BUBBLESITE
An as is shot of our favorite “Standing Peaople” or Pine Trees near our cabin ;) A tree that cannot be confused with any others – I must concede / Its evergreen branches conceive cones, while some conceal seeds / The pinon, with a taste like confection, which connoisseur birds feed / I must confess, the one most condusive for my eyes, is the blue spruce breed These trees do console my winter spirit with their life so consistent / Continuous shelter for the falcons and birds, whose travels are distant / Unconditionally they give of their flesh, which contain constructing assistant / In addition to needs for economic growth, we’re convinced and persistent An icon Sequoia, the tallest conifer of all, towers as high as days in the year / The only species able to conquer death, by conjuring life, when its base is cut clear / Conservation efforts aplenty, on the Pacific coast despite a consumerism frontier / I’ve had many conversations of concern against so many black marketers My conscience speaks loudly to those driven by greed / Who try to convince me – when they’re condensed, they are much like weeds / I’m interconnected to those who contribute to my medicinal needs / By no means conventional, though content with success and Godspeed The traditions of Christmas, I will not conform to, by cutting one down / A concept of constraint, receiving no congratulations, but frowns / When we light our live one out under the constellations – the only in town / It’s our own beacon to condole all conifers slain for a holiday crown. tkrosevear 2007 An exercise in using as many words containing “con”, this poem contains 42, inspired by TREES. Haleakala Crater in Maui, Hawaii is actually an extinct volcano resembling in many ways the surface of the moon. As a matter of fact, US astronauts have actually done training here. The long tedious ride to the top ascends from sea level to over 10,000 feet in elevation, passing through several climate zones and varied scenery and it is very difficult to actually believe that you are in Hawaii. The reward is when you reach the crater itself, located in Haleakala National Park is well worth it and is as surreal as any place on earth. Perfectly clear days are far and uncommon and I was extatic when I got here to find that it was crystal clear. I had visited on previous occasions when it was rainy and foggy with zero visability much to my dismay. To sum it up, this wonder is a true sight to behold and one of my favorite places in the world to shoot. Hiking through the crater itself, which i have done is a one of a kind experience. I hope you enjoy this image as much as I do. All content & images © Stephen Vecchiotti. You may not use any images in any way without written consent from artist. All Rights Reserved.

Monarch Butterfly (Danaus plexippus) Everyone is like a butterfly, they start out ugly and awkward and then morph into beautiful graceful butterflies that everyone loves. Drew Barrymore Also featured in “Monarchs” calendar
Featured in TPW – December 11, 2009 Featured in Top Shelf Wildlife & Nature Art – December 2, 2009 This cute little red squirrel had found it’s lunch and no one taking photos was going to distract from eating the pine cone. He looked like he was plyaing the harmonica as he whipped it back and forth and threw it off for another.
