Handheld at 1/6s This picture was taken in manchester at night (1st March 2008), on piccadilly Gardens, on an obviously rainy day. BUT I would like to mention that manchester is not getting rained on as much as people think….(Yes I know, I’m not helping the North West’s reputation much with this picture) Part of the Urban Jungle Series “Passage of time in a concrete jungle” won / - No1 in ‘Under My Umbrella’ challenge in the ‘The Woman Photographer Your BEST Work Only* group ‘ “Passage of time in a concrete jungle” was featured / - Twice on the home page / - in the ‘featured art ‘section / - in the group A Beautiful Blur / - in the group All About Your Best Work / - in the group European Everyday Life / - in the group Experimental Photograph… / - in the group Urban Art

Captured along my travels, a part of Victoria that just keeps growing. This is my kind of landscape, I feel at home amongst the concrete and steel. Used an 11 – 17mm with the perspective corrected. Docking at various Greek Islands, I could’nt tear myself away from the actual ports, as to me they provided the visual interest. Awesome signage and colour coded curbs, along with industrial qualities proved and endless escape for me.
The eye makes a comeback! / (same one in my shot: “Centrifuge”..and yes, this is my eye. :) / / / / >featured<
Love the size of the fuselage, just has an amazing shape about it and the Iberia jet has a striking graphic nature… great looking plane, not so good an airline!
This image is inspired by the photography of Bill Henson and the taste for darkness, texture and creating a subliminal energy. The focus of the sprawling arms as they cut diagonals through the image to the dark silvery tones help create the ambiguous nature of the image – is it uplifting or helplessness. You decide.
Another stop at a Greek Port, Cofru I think… I love the fact we dock at these industrial ports, there is just so much to see and take in… my kind of landscape for sure.
I looked over an edge to see a fourth angel fallen on the ‘crete. If I get up and stand again, I’ll want to tumble to the ground was all it said. Thankyou to my wonderful model Yasemin who was extremely helpful in setting up the shot. The Ground Angel Series / / / /
This is an actual place 1 hour out of Brussels called The Atomium, (great name!) which is a replica of an atom magnified 165 billion times it stands 334.6 ft. high and was built for the 1958 World Expo… it consists of 9 spheres linked with these massive elevator shafts you can physically climb into… I was totally fascinated by the massive scale and although built in 1958, has this tremendous futuristic appeal… wonder if we will all be living in spherical metallic pods in the future… I know I want to!

Took this on Stockton Bight, a long series of sand dunes that stretch from Anna Bay to Newcastle. These traps were placed to protect Williamtown air base (I believe) during World War II. 26km or so of these, 2m high concrete reinforced pyramids, and now all you can find is this small group, situated in a sand blow. Even they come and go depending on the wind. We took a tour from Anna bay, to see the tank traps, tin city and the wreck of the Sygma(?) I think the tank traps were the highlight for me OTHER NEW ZEALAND / FROGS / LENSBABY / INFRARED / BEACH / SPAM / PANORAMAS / LANDSCAPES / INDUSTRIAL
Italians just love their concrete, and once in a while will throw a piece of modernism architecture in an industrial area. I had so much fun in the early morning veering off into these areas and exploring the barren streets. There is the quintessential red and white stripe pole in the far, far distance that smacks of industrialism in Italy.
