Compton Abbas airfield, Dorset, situated on the hilltops at the western end of Cranborne Chase. / This aerial image was taken by me from an ex-South African Navy Westland Wasp helicopter. / As we flew the downwind leg of the right hand circuit onto runway 26, in rather inclement weather conditions, the clouds parted and lit up the airfield magnificently. / On the horizon can be seen the Purbeck Hills on the south coast.
