I’ve bought six new IKEA glasses but one of them got broken when I washed it for the first time. Of course, I wouldn’t just throw it away, as well as my daughter couldn’t throw away a Camellia blossom she has found fallen at the ground two days later… / I believe these two imperfect subjects made a perfect combination. What do you think?

Actually, who are you not to be? / You are a child of God. / Your playing small does not serve the world. / There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. / We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. / It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. / And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. / As we are liberated from our own fear, / our presence automatically liberates others.” by Marrianne Williamson ~ excerpts from Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles. Ragman has put together some journals covering some basics of doing it right when it comes to art/photography. Here are some of the excerpts from his up-coming book. Just playing around in PSP with a photo of my daughter Kassidy in a pensive mood, I couldn’t help but think how she looked old beyond her years, and she made me think of the Child Empress in The Neverending Story I and how she had the weight of the world on her shoulders. A little tweaking and playing with several different photos and this is the result! :) All resources used my own, taken on my Canon Powershot A480 point and shoot. A little help from the generous Trisste for a slight emphasis on the lashes. 500+ Viewings group: 516 views at the time of submission. Sunset Polo Beach Wailea Maui Hawai’i “There is a Wisdom like a brooding Sun, / Bliss in the heart’s crypt grown fiery white, / The heart of a world in which all hearts are one, / A Silence on the mountains of delight. / A Calm that cradles Fate upon its knees; / A wide Compassion leans to embrace earth’s pain; A Witness dwells within our secrecies, / The incarnate Godhead in the body of man. / Our mind is a glimmering curtain of that Ray, / Our strength a parody of the Immortal’s power, / Our joy a dreamer on the Eternal’s way / Hunting the fugitive beauty of an hour. Only on the heart’s veiled door the word of flame Is written, / the secret and tremendous Name.” ~ poetry by Sri Aurobindo This is a composite of two images stitched one over the other, taken at the same time in the same location on a beautiful evening on Polo Beach at sunset. The luxurious golden sands on this lovely beach are bronzed with the evening light and the dramatic skies were spectacular with a wonderful view of the ‘Au’au channel and Kahalewai, West Maui.
