This is an image of original fabric art of mine. I titled it “Hip to be Square” because the term “Square” was a slang word in the 1960’s to describe a person who held to conservative views and was not influenced by the culture to change who they were and what they stood for. Huey Lewis wrote a song titled “Hip to be Square”. It was a great dance song and fun to sing. If someone called me a “Square”, that would be a compliment. I put small squares of bright colors inside black out-lined squares. I think the bright colors show that it IS “hip” to be a “square”!
