An old Holden I snapped in the backstreets of Fitzroy, Melbourne. Bit of obvious PS work on it. Texture overlays, used the PS warp tool to alter the chrome fender into tusks and the background was removed and replaced with something a little more thematic.

RedBubble is getting desperately close to where we replace the uninspiring tagline of “preview” or inaccurate one of “Art Gallery and Creative Community” with something that captures who we are and what we are about. The idea is that it would (most likely) go up next to the RedBubble logo on the top of the page – and also be used in other places. So, best I have for now is the simple “Creative Community”. But as a creative community we may be able to do better. So a $200 RedBubble voucher is available for the person who comes up with a great tagline (not to mention worldwide glory). Peter, Paul and me (Pilgrim) will be the final arbiters of “greatness” but will be listening hard to what you have to say. Just post your suggestions as comments to this blog/journal entry. All suggestions please before 17 September. (And the legal bit is that if we decide to use the tagline and part with the $200 voucher you will need to hand over ownership of the copyright of the tagline to RedBubble.)
A few years ago, Mildura hosted the World Hot Air Balloon Championships. I headed up there for a few days to enjoy the event. Travelling with the competitors was great as I got to see how quickly they measured the weather conditions and set up their balloons. About 80 balloons were raised at about the same time, many of them side-by-side like this, in a rush to take advantage of the best wind conditions. Not only were they pushing against each other on the ground, but the balloons would also bump each other in the air, it was really an amazing sight.
Located in the U.S. Supreme Court building, which was built in the early 1930s after the Court had met in many different places. This building was the first permanent place for them to meet since they had first convened. The oval staircase is an attraction in the building but unfortunately, tourists are not allowed to ascend it.

Treviso is an attractive town in the Veneto region of north-east Italy, with a population of around 80,000. Rebuilt and restored after Second World War bombing, the town centre is a rambling maze of streets lined with arcaded walkways. Looking up, you’ll see fragments of the painted frescoes which once decorated Treviso’s houses. The town is circled by a town wall and by waterways. Central and eastern Oregon is spotted with once vibrant farming communities that today exist as little more than a crossroads. This old church served such a community. It remains standing but the town it once served is no more. Please check out my series Grain Elevator, Sherman County, Oregon for a look at another historic Oregon building. More images: /

My fifth and last entry for the 2008 Canon Photo5 Competition. / All done – at last!!! Description / I shot a series of bubbles which I later combined with another shot I took of a work mate. My aim was to represent our thoughts and how we sometimes can look into them too much. The elements were composited together in Photoshop, cleaned up and enhanced and this is the end result.

Winner of the Surreal Phare Design Competition ~ Sadly now forgotten.. Yes its French, it ended up on a French beach in the Languedoc-Roussillon area, / the Government lost its nerve at the last moment and tried to hide it in the most remote part of France.. These days its quite a headache for the local council, they are sick of cleaning the linen covering and washing off the graffiti..
