If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and / bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. More worthwhile advice from Max Ehrman’s Desiderata.

Completed in 2004, age 17 This is a slightly cropped version of the original, due to the limits of my camera. My original signature got cropped out so I had to insert a new one in photoshop; in the original it is not actually located there. Original size: (40” x 30”) The two subjects are posed in similar positions, each having a dark, circular central focus., Both images have lines above and surrounding the centres, which draw attention towards the centres. The vertical composition help strenghten the feeling of height given by the vertical lines. Both subjects are organic, however one, the eye, has straight lines and geometrical shapes, while the rose has curvy lines and organic shapes. In the eye, the centre is literally dark, while in the flower the darkness is created by shadows. Like my previous colour chart journal entry, I’ve tried something else to take the guesswork out of designing for RedBubble t-shirts. This time I’m comparing the unchanging maximum print area (2400px x 3200px @ 200dpi = 30.48cm x 40.64cm or 12inches x 16inches) to the varying sizes of the Unisex short sleeve t-shirt, which ranges from S up to XXXL. This should help you envisage how your design will look across the varying shirt sizes. As you can see because of the unchanging print area, things look considerably different when comparing S to XXXL. To RedBubble, I’ve made every effort to get these measurements exact as possible. If you notice any errors, please let me know. Below: The blue area represents the maximum unchanging print area. As a result, the larger the t-shirt the more empty space surrounds the design. Note: The shirt preview we see on Redbubble is based on the Large size. Below: Here you can see how the same design at the same size looks on the smallest and largest t-shirt. / For a larger version of the Blue square chart, you can download from the link below (copy and paste address in your browser)- http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/2117/unisexsizecomparisonzr3.jpg Thanks.

This is an image representing the cover up of emotion. So many people put on the face of beauty and happiness but inside are rotting and hating. They hide this hate and destruction with a painted face of joy. This is not to be seen as ‘demonic’ in any way. The original picture was taken by liquid-venus Comments and critiques are welcome. This series of pictures I took on the trip to California My GF and I took on 08/08/08 through 08/11/08. We stopped in Victorville, at my GF’s Parents House, for 2 nights. Their dog Lucy just had 4 adorable puppies. In this Picture you see one of them in my arm. Notice how small they are? I took this pic with the Kodak EasyShare z712IS, 7.1 Mega Pixel, 12x Zoom. / A Potion of proceeds from the sale of this picture will be donated to Animal Charities!
A perspective of a mole cricket (the big one) – compared to a ‘normal’ cricket. Quite the size difference, eh?! You wouldn’t catch ME holding these guys!
When I returned to this beech-tree lane in early November this year, enjoying its autumnal beauty in the haze of a peaceful Sunday morning, I suddenly remembered another visit there in December last year. Something had changed! And then I realised that it was that the old dead beech-tree, which had so clearly stood out there in the past, definitely had come to its end. Yes, such is life. Morels / Morchella, the true morels, is a genus of edible mushrooms closely related to anatomically simpler cup fungi. These distinctive mushrooms appear honeycomb-like in that the upper portion is composed of a network of ridges with pits between them. These ascocarps are prized by gourmet cooks, particularly for French cuisine. Commercial value aside, morels are hunted by thousands of people every year simply for their taste and the joy of the hunt. Morels have been called by many local names, some of the more colorful include dryland fish, due to the fact that when sliced lengthwise then breaded and fried, their outline resembles the shape of a fish; hickory chickens, as they are known in many parts of Kentucky; and merkels or miracles, based on a story of how a mountain family was saved from starvation by eating morels. Other common names for morels include sponge mushroom. Genus Morchella is derived from “morchel”. / When gathering morels, care must be taken to distinguish them from the poisonous false morels, including Gyromitra esculenta, Verpa bohemica, and others. Although the false morels are sometimes eaten without ill effect, they can cause severe gastrointestinal upset and loss of muscular coordination (including cardiac muscle) if eaten in large quantities or over several days in a row. They contain a gyromitrin-like toxin (an organic, carcinogenic poison) that is produced by the mushroom. / Cooking / Morels are a feature of many cuisines, including Provençal. Though morels are typically sold dried or canned, they can be purchased fresh. When preparing fresh morels for consumption, soaking them may ruin their delicate flavor. Due to their natural porousness, morels may contain trace amounts of soil which cannot be washed out. One of the best and simplest ways to enjoy morels is by gently sauteeing them in butter, cracking pepper on top and sprinkling with salt. Others soak the mushrooms in an egg batter and lightly bread them with saltine crackers or flour. Many people dry out the morels for long term storage. When they are ready to eat them, they simply soak the morels until they reabsorb moisture. Eggs from moths or insects can hatch during storage. Other people freeze or can their mushrooms. / False Morels / Gyromitra esculenta one of several species of fungi known as false morels, is an ascomycete fungus from the genus Gyromitra, widely distributed across Europe and North America. It normally sprouts in sandy soils under coniferous trees, in spring and early summer. The fruiting body, or mushroom, is an irregular brain-shaped cap dark brown in colour which can reach 10 cm (4 in) high and 15 cm (6 in) wide, perched on a stout white stipe up to 6 cm (2.4 in) high. Although potentially fatal if eaten raw, Gyromitra esculenta is a popular delicacy in Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, and the upper Great Lakes region of North America. Although popular in some districts of the eastern Pyrenees, it is prohibited from sale to the public in Spain. It may be sold fresh in Finland, but it must be accompanied by warnings and instructions on correct preparation. It is eaten in omelettes, soups, or sautéed in Finnish cuisine. Although it is still commonly parboiled before preparation, recent evidence suggests that even this procedure may not make the fungus entirely safe, thus raising concerns of risk even when prepared properly. When consumed, the false morel’s principal active agent, gyromitrin, is hydrolyzed into the toxic compound monomethylhydrazine (MMH). The toxin affects the liver, central nervous system, and sometimes the kidneys. Symptoms of poisoning involve vomiting and diarrhea several hours after consumption, followed by dizziness, lethargy and headache. Severe cases may lead to delirium, coma and death after 5–7 days. / The false morels can be told apart from the true morels by careful study of the cap, which is often “wrinkled” or “brainy”, rather than honeycomb or net-like. Gyromitra esculenta has a cap that is generally darker and larger than the true morels (Morchella sp.). The caps of early morels (Verpa sp.) are attached only at apex (top) of cap, unlike true morels which have caps that are attached at or near the bottom. / (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morchella) / [Assessed on the internet June 6, 2009] / / Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi
