Another piece for my photography final, “Fragmented Self-Image”. I can’t help but constantly compare myself to others whom I think are more attractive or better than I am. / I’m bound and powerless to the need to compare myself no matter what I do. / I’ve been like this even before my eating disorder, and I have no doubt that this was a major influence in what caused me to have an eating disorder.

/ Ok, so this may be kind of a limited appeal work. For those outside the UK we have an advert currently running that makes a play on the words “market” & “meerkat”.....my other half loves meerkats & this advert really tickels him, so I have taken a capture of him trying to look roman in a bath towel & put in the meerkat…...

Very early in the grounds of Schonbrunn. (You can understand why it has been carted around the world as a backdrop) ... but my eye caught the TWO sets of heads together for all the world as if they were comparing notes. / A stunning Palace … but glad our tour guide had our group there early before it was swarming with tourists, like ourselves!! / Pentax Optio 750Z !/250 F/5.6 USO 80 /

A sonnet by Shakespear. / The calligraphy is my favourite bartarde with a gilt oak leaf border. The painting is with gouache with a couple of water drops smudging the illustration. / The original is A3 410*298mm
True photographic evidence of a more than one meter long 58lb plus slug coming out of a sulfur mud spring. I could hardly believe it when I discovered this new form of life known as a extremophile. I place a pakistani rupee next to it just to show you the amazing size of this monstrously huge slug.
A perspective of a mole cricket (the big one) – compared to a ‘normal’ cricket. Quite the size difference, eh?! You wouldn’t catch ME holding these guys!

Well, now I don’t feel nearly as strange!
This picture is part of a series of pictures taken by me during the summer of 2007. This photograph was taken in Arches National Park located in Utah. In this photo, we went up a trail that gave us a far away view of delicate arch, which so happens to be the most photographed arches in the park. As you can see, the arch is a good size compared to the others standing around it.
This image is from my ‘online’ exhibition which I entitled ‘美:BI:BEAUTY’. This exhibition has three aspects – this image is from one aspect which is an installation which I created from the box framed collages and Kanji cut-outs. / This collage has been created by assembling images and cut-outs from short-lived ‘gossip’ magazines and other such ‘mass media’ publications, which is the material I use and recycle as the major material component of this project. One of the cut-outs is folded and distorted, and I have playfully appropriated all of the images and cut-outs to create this collage which is 3D, and yet ‘flat and textured’ diorama of the imagery. / The reflective silver circle is to accommodate viewer who is looking at this collage. (Those white circles are empty faces who are wearing a business suit.) / I have used a square box frame (h & w 29 cm x d 12 cm), which echoes the squares of origami paper, to ‘house’ this collage as a ‘dolls’ house’ or ‘theatre’. *Screen printed tissue paper by Neriage Ceramic Artist Dawn / Thirlaway.
