How many moments pass us by unnoticed? Beauty is sometimes just a glance and then its gone. Oh, to be patient and still…listening, watching, waiting. Capture each moment and find it’s beauty… for it will not pass again. Nancy Balogh
Inks Watercolour and gouache wash on Stonehenge Paper , all about the razzle dazzle hooh hah tourists see on the Gold Coast.[when not at the Beach]
As with my last image, beauty is often missed when we are beyond our prime … as is this flower … yet, it is beautiful to me.

These are rather like broad tagliatelle and I prepared the dish like this… / Roast about 10 cherry tomatoes cut in half, in olive oil with 5 garlic cloves and a sprinkle of dried chili for twenty minutes. Halfway through the roasting, add some small whole mushrooms. I used oyster, buna-shimeji and shiro-shimeji varieties. Meanwhile bring some water to the boil, add salt and the pappardelle. After 5 minutes, add a handful of baby spinach leaves and cook for a further 6 minutes. / Serve the pasta with the roasted, tomatoes, garlic and mushrooms. / Total preparation and cooking time 25 minutes. Buon appetito! The lighting was overcast daylight (the best diffusser) through my kitchen window. N.B. This image is now for sale as laminated kitchen art! Technical Details: Camera: Nikon D200 / Lens: 12-24mm f4 / Focal Length: 20mm / ISO: 250 / Exposure: 1/125 sec at f /4 / Lighting: Daylight / Post Processing: Photoshop CS3 © 2008 John Hooton Photography
the bluebird couple prepares to raise a second brood in the house, it takes two to raise a family. You might ask what is the male doing? Well, he is busy fending off a sparrow couple who wants the house as well.

NEVER SQUASH A KILLER BEAT!!!
This is another entry for the London Calling Challenge... A commentary on the arrogance of a ruling empire that once was… Everyone has done it, but none so effectively as the tiny island that is England and all ruled from the city of London – the heart of the machine! / __________ Rule Britannia / a poem by James Thompson When Britain first, at heaven’s command, / Arose from out the azure main; / This was the charter of the land, / And guardian Angels sung this strain: Rule, Britannia, rule the waves; / Britons never will be slaves. The nations, not so blest as thee, / Must, in their turns, to tyrants fall: / While thou shalt flourish great and free, / The dread and envy of them all. Still more majestic shalt thou rise, / More dreadful, from each foreign stroke: / As the loud blast that tears the skies, / Serves but to root thy native oak. Thee haughty tyrants ne’er shall tame: / All their attempts to bend thee down, / Will but arouse thy generous flame; / But work their woe, and thy renown. To thee belongs the rural reign; / Thy cities shall with commerce shine: / All thine shall be the subject main, / And every shore it circles thine. The Muses, still with freedom found, / Shall to thy happy coast repair: / Blest isle! with matchless beauty crowned, / And manly hearts to guard the fair.
The first thoughts that come to me when I think of London are graffiti, music, landmarks and consumerism. This is my attempt to combine the 4 elements. / The bean tin/aerosol can express the continued perception of graffiti art being a criminal act while hundreds of 20ft bill boards avertising shit are allowed to stain our streets. / Look past the buy two get a third free when you dont need one!!!! / . / My entry for the London Calling competition. / Also entered into the Inspired by urban street stencil and graffiti art competition.

The flower garden at Great Comp is one of the most beautiful in Kent, with glorious displays everywhere you look. This urn with its colorful display was only one of many that deserved a long gaze. Watercolor on Arches cold press paper, 6”x 6-1/2”, painted with Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolors. Permission to use this image for any reason must first be granted in writing by the artist. /

If Dr. Frankenstein had a guitar…. This is my entry for the Music Machines Redbubble challenge. I built this guy using a Gibson SG guitar as my base, then used Frankenstein and cartoon monsters in general as inspiration to construct it. I really wanted to push myself for this challenge, and i think i have done that. This is my first real foray into this sort of illustration, so hopefully you think i’ve done a good job. Please zoom in for a better look at the details. Feedback would be greatly appreciated, anything that will help the design in the comp I will try and incorporate before entries close. Some details to note: / > His eyes are made up by the volume/tone knobs. / > His nose is made up by the pick up switch, but instead of it reading ‘Lead and Rhythm’, it reads ‘Crush and Kill’. / > His mouth is made up by a pick up. / > His angry eye brow is made up by the bridge. / > His ‘Frankenstein neck bolt’ things are made up by tuning pegs. / > His arms and mace thing are parts of the guitar neck. / > And his skull bag is made up by guitar strings. Hope you like it! Close ups: / / / /
I MADE THE TOP 20 ... words can’t do justice to how excited and thankful I am!! ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ My design entry for the sensational music machine tee challenge Without that profound ability to hear & interpret sound that is within all of us… we would not even know, hear or feel music. The brain is the hard drive… the epicentre that drives it all. The ears are our microphones… and our hearts are our bass amps where we feel the sound. One of the greatest joys I can feel is to find a song that touches on such a deep and moving level… thats when the sound travels straight to my heart!! So in reality… the best music machine of all… is us!! Thank You For the Music!!
