“Autumn brings along a radiant tapestry of harvest crops. Walking along the many farm stands, I indulge myself in the sheer presence of these simple, yet unbelievably beautiful vegetables and fruits. Amidst glorious pumpkins in the colours of rainbow, gorgeous strawberries and glossy gourds, the exquisite patterns and colours of Indian Corn stand out. / / Piled casually upon each other in baskets, the corn ears make a delightful array of vibrant beauty. Gleaming like tiny jewels, each corn grain bears a distinctive colour. Golden hues, brown turning into copper, mauve turning into magenta, chartreuse, pink mixed with orange, pure white and pitch black. Each grain weaves a pattern meticulously designed. / / I find inspiration in the simple elements of Nature by discovering, in a closer approach, their elaborated forms, their patterns and intricacies, their sheer beauty. They teach me a lesson on survival, too. The colour of each Indian Corn grain is goverened by genes.
