10×14 watercolor of a columbine done on a rough finish paper. Original is available. Now… this one has been an education! Making mauve was just fascinating because I also added quite a bit of blue. I did find a great frisket that doesn’t smell as bad as the other one I was using. It was really hard but what a blast I had.. and, boy, did I ever learn a lot!!

/ / Aquilegia or can also be called Columbine, many thanks to Hilary Dougal, for her outstanding knowledge on flowers Wonderful poem written by Adgray. Sweet Columbine. How tiny is your heart of gold, / And layered skirts so gay, / Dance for me my sweet Columbine, / Your pretty swinging sway, / I’ll blow a gental warming breath, / And hum or gently play, / As I sit and strum my golden lute, / And dream my day away. /

No fancy titles – it is what it is. The poetry is inherent. Perfect, delicate, rare, and beautiful. Taken near Winter Park this summer.
