  • Interior patio with lots of plants inside a colonial building.

  • “Machu Picchu is a pre-Columbian Inca city located at 2,430 m (7,970 ft) altitude on a mountain ridge northwest of Cusco. Machu Picchu is probably the most familiar symbol of the Inca Empire. It is often referred to as “The Lost City of the Incas”. The site was designated as a World Heritage Site in 1983 when it was described as “an absolute masterpiece of architecture and a unique testimony to the Inca civilization”. Forgotten for centuries by the outside world, although not by locals, it was brought back to international attention by archaeologist Hiram Bingham in 1911, who made the first scientific confirmation of the site and wrote a best-selling work about it.” / Source: Wikipedia In this beautiful image, we can see one of the most well conserved Inca constructions at the Machu Pichhu site. The use of soft focus and sepia tone gives this image an atemporal look. This photo is a testimonial to the geniality of the Incas, and a must for anyone interested in the history of the South American civilzation.

  • Digital painting photoshop made with Wacom Tablet by the visual artist Alejandro Silveira

  • I am fortunate to live in a country where I have choices, and I can afford to make choices. Fair trade coffee costs a little more, but I’m happy to pay that. People’s Coffee is a local roastery so, as well as a better deal for the coffee farmers in the country of origin, I’m supporting local people as well.

  • Abstract digital mixed media / photographs and flame fractals /   / 9.8 megapixels (3840×2560), 2009.02.14th /   / This is part of a current graphic project where I hope to design an album cover for a friend’s ethnodrones soundscape music. More details soon. / Although no material I used is directly linked to Peru, and I didn’t know about Paracas culture before researching it from my friend’s track title (‘Paracas’), it seems his music, that I listened to while creating the picture, magically guided me towards this abstraction strangely reminiscent of Pre-Columbian geoglyphs. Hence the name I chose aftwerwards (translating as ‘From here to Paracas’). /   / © 2009 by Nodakami / www.nodakami.com

  • A fall on the way up to Fairy Falls :) I climbed to the middle of the falls to take this. I’m calling this falls Lower Fairy Falls (no idea what the real name would be). You can barely see the tripod foot at the very bottom of the photograph (it looks like a rock). The trail to these falls starts at Wahkeena Falls. I found it amazing how symmetrical this is.

  • About a quarter of the majestic fairy falls. / Canon 450D

  • A young Columbian Black Spider Monkey hanging down from a rope at Banham Zoo, Norfolk.

  • shot this cute critter while vacationing in Montana (inside Glacier Park). He was barking at me here, and let me get pretty close without ever running away.
