Elowah falls tumbles some 200+ feet to the floor of the Columbia River Gorge. Taken on a rainy misty day in January. I never seen that much water coming over the falls.

The West Coast first people of British Columbia, Canada, have a name for killer whales or orcas…they call them sea wolves. If you have ever watched killer whales hunt, they do so like wolves.

For those of us tired of Winter and grey foggy days a bit of Spring color to brighten your day. A meadow filled with Lupine and balsamroot glows with color under the setting sun from the Rowena Plateau looking North across the Columbia River to the hills of Washington Off to a Photographers meeting , be back later!

This man works infront of the Empress Hotel in Victoria, British Columbia. I bought two prints from him, one based around Mother Earth and the other based around the Tree of Life. He has an interesting look to both himself and his prints. On a sidenote, I went back to Victoria about 8 months after I took this, found him selling his wares at the same place and gave him a copy of this photo. The version here is actually the 3rd reincarnation of this shot as I haven’t been truly happy with the post processing until now.

I witnessed several launches when I was stationed at Patrick AFB, FL. My group provided emergency back-up communication for the shuttle on Cape Canaveral. This is an old picture and it has been difficult to restore it. The Columbia burned up in the atmosphere a few years ago. The debris spread over Texas. The Challenger exploded shorty after lift off in the late 1980’s.

My most popular work to date…. This photograph was taken on a gorgeous evening following a pacific storm that rolled through the northwest. The Columbia River, where this was taken, spans out almost five miles at the mouth. During low tide, mudflats expose and reflect the colors of the sunset for gorgeous photographs. This evening was exceptional with the fast moving thunderclouds passing by, lighting up the sky. Post-processing include HDR, and some dodging to even out the balance of the photo. / I hope you like it!

This was taken on Pender Island in British Columbia Canada. I was lucky enough to capture a few shots of this gorgeous creature as it was fishing near my boat.
