I saw the reflection of that “prisoned” tree in the window, while I was enjoying a mountain climb here in Macedonia, a moment before i could see it free. It gave me a thought of what are we doing to our mother nature and couldn’t resist to pull the shutter of my camera as a modest contribution to a free green planet.

The Whitsundays are a group of beautiful islands on the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Queensland in Australia. We stayed here in 2008 to celebrate my birthday. This photo has not been cross-processed properly, apparently. However, I’d never heard of cross-processing until recently. I’ve read that the term started by developing color print or slide film in the wrong chemicals – for example, color negative film in slide chemicals or slide film by the color negative process. This causes wild color and contrast shifts and requires lots of trial and error. for more, see Dana DiPasquale’s forum page. Apparently a group exists for cross-processing experts, as well. / / However, playing with the RGB channels certainly stretched my tendency for more realistic, staid photos! I played with this photo last night using Sue Wickham’s method and the tutorial that Mary Campbell posted. I used curves and RGB channels in Photoshop and Nikon’s Capture NX2.1 software. / / This is the Capture NX2 version, with a bit of a vignette blur from efex. Original: Nikon D200, Nikkor 70-300mm, 145mm, f/5.6, 1/1000sec, -0.3ev., ISO 200, manual exposure, / Converted from 12-bit RAW to jpeg. Manfrotto tripod. / 2025×3037px

This was taken up at the Ornamental Gardens in Summerland BC, shortly prior to my run-in with the sleeping bears. I was sad to cut my photo taking short, as the colours were absolutely crazy beautiful! This is a very busy image…...and it breaks all the rules…..but what the heck :)

/ Get the TShirt Tears from Heaven / / The Peacock Empress is a drawing created a couple of days ago, while at the surgery with my daughter, i had a vision of it which impressed strongly in my mind, and i was able to draw it once I got home. The idea was the Empress was rising up over the waters. There’s lots of symbolism in this, but it’s purely for my own benefit and the viewer may decide how the symbolism relates to them…the colour has been done in Photoshop. She has almost taken on the look of an oriental style “Luna Park” entrance at twilight, might be a nice design for those who celebrate “Chinese New Year” and/or collectors of asian inspired/related art
