Hi! Yes, that’s me with a framed up painting of “Love Meditations” and my little owl finger puppet toy named Ophelia too! I was at a joint exhibition’s opening ceremony here in Bangkok,Thailand yesterday evening, I’m currently having 7 of my paintings exhibited there, one of which is “Love Meditations”. There are slightly more than 100 budding artists involved…so there are many many paintings to view and enjoy :D If anyone of you is in Bangkok right now(I know the chances are super slim), do drop by for the show if you can :DThat little happy boy whom I am posing with….his mum is a great supporter of my works and had bought a few from me previously:D I dont normally look this orange, it’s the lighting in the hall and my cam :D

And again I must add the feeling of friendships encountered there would not be the same feeling each time a photo is put up without you lovely bubbling friends – I have a feeling we all just “click” :))

I am so Happy what a lovely way to finish an exceedingly lovely weekend – we have chilled – I mean literally we have had minus 5 over the weekend, so how do we combat that? by going for a walk – in the a windchill factor of minus 10 well ok maybe not that cold but my legs were numb from the knee up is that right??) that aside been a great weekend but the sourness creeps in, back to normality tomorrow – 5.30am starts for Chloe and Rob, long dark days – early to bed nights and oh yes that four letter word – W*rk!! We are planning on starting an enterprise here in France so we have lots of red tape and stuff to sort out then Hubby can start advertising and I can start getting my design head on (well for some of the work that will come in) so fingers crossed! Anyway digression…...what was I saying – oh yes 4 Features over the weekend :)) Does anyone realise that poor Rob is getting particularly jumpy these days – well it’s down to the wooohoooo…but today I played it calm and all grown up – he had to check I was ok only to find me inanely grinning at the screen :) like that, and :0 like that! Thank you to the lovely hosts of : / Natural Colour and Light for another Feature – this has been in my Folio since the beginning and I thought I should actually add it to some groups (well I didn’t realise at first now I know!!) so, I added it and it was featured -wowie woot! / My biggest :0 was All Things Pubs – thank you sooo much chaps – this one made me giggle and I love the bar but this chap would not budge so he was in the shot as well – Thank you for my first feature in your new group – it’s a great way of getting around the pubs in the UK and staying hic sober hic! / And then to the lovely hosts of Bits and Pieces :0 NOT one but Two – wowie again – and huge Thank you I am honoured and slightly stunned! I never knew French Wheels would have so many comments and am thrilled to bits so thank you all :) And finally my little bit of Fun – a card that I made for my Naomi – she adores Purple and loves daisies (especially the small ones to make daisy chains) so this was made for her! /

New Group – Urban Wildlife Hosted by Nic Relton...

New Group – Urban Wildlife Hosted by Nic Relton and myself. We’re really keen to see images of wildlife in an urban environment! We don’t mind if your bird is perched on a chimney, your butterfly is on a wall, or if your polar bear is raiding a garbage bin. We simply want to see those images that have not been taken in the wild or country. We are happy to see pictures of all wildlife including insects and wild flowers as long as they have been captured in the urban environment including gardens and parks. To help make this educational, please include the name of the species you have photographed!

... voila freshwater ice … / that has been broken off a glacier or an ice sheet or shelf. Icebergs float in the water because they are less dense than the water they are immersed in. Only 1/5th of their mass is visible above water and they come in various sizes, the largest iceberg sighted was approximately the same size as Belgium! www.mnh.si.edu/arctic/html/resources_glossary.html

Hello and happy New Year to all my RB friends, I really missed you all over the last few weeks while I have been away. Whilst I technically on holidays, I was also helping out a very dear friend of ine who was having a baby , due on the 28th December 08. She was admitted to hospital on Christmas Eve, spent Christmas day in hospital, only to be sent home after christmas was all over. She then went back in on New Years Eve and delivered a healthy and very beautiful baby boy at 3.40pm on New Years Eve. She and her husband now very proudly have three boys. / I have not had internet access while I was away so no RB, I had to do it cold turkey, but after being on the RB drought wagon for three weeks I am happy to say I am back now. I have just finished checking every one of my 189 BM’s and hope to get back to looking at all the wonderful work my very talented RB friends have been submitting in my absence. I am also working in a casual position full time for the next two weeks so it may take me a little time to get back through it all. Anyway I love you all and am looking forward to a very interesting 2009. I have three of my images going into the Lyndon Gallery Melbourn’s “Postcards exhibition next week so it is an exciting way to start the New Year, my fondest love to you all, cheers my friends- Valerie xxx
