this photo shows a boy sitting down looking almost depressed, but the strong lively colors mask its true feelings. camera was hired from my school, dont know the exact specs so i wont guess, lens was a normal zoom lens on AF setting, with a farily fast shutter speed and mediem zoom, this photo was staged I got my best mate and drew words all over his upper body then found different places to shoot. This exact place was a semi allyway and i stood ontop a wall.

Due to the possible demise of my beloved Milady Fuji, (S9600), after being swamped by a wave while shooting surfers, a very good friend has kindly lent me one of his DSLRs and a 100-300mm lens. (See links below). / I am finding the transition to be far less traumatic than I had originally thought and I am having a lot of fun in DSLR World. / This photograph is one of the first successful shots. THE SUBJECT: / A young lad pauses with his scooter and strikes a casual pose before taking off again. THE LOCATION: / I shot this candid photograph while slurping a [_]>a coffee at my favourite caffeine oasis, the Créma Espresso Bar, in the CBD of Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia on a lovely spring day. THE MAKING OF ‘Get a Grip!’: / There we all were, mulling about my on loan camera and lens, with all the ‘Canon Men’ all trying to help me come to grips with my new set-up when I spotted the boy and his scooter about 3m (10ft) away and saw the potential for a B&W with selective colour. / I had to almost wrench the camera away from one of my helpful friends to grab this shot just before the kid disappeared down the street. / Canon EOS D60 & Canon Ultrasonic 100-300mm Lens#: RAW, Manual settings of f/5.6 @ 1/1000sec, 300mm, Auto focus, ISO100, Hand held. / Lightroom 2.2 & Photoshop CS3.
