The original artwork is done in acrylic on stretched canvas. This was painted on a cold windy winter night a few years ago, and I wanted to paint something that will warm me up. What better way than a nice cosy blanket with swirls and colours! Enjoy!

This is obviously not an original idea, and I want to thank both ECGardner and Angelique Brunas for their works along these lines that motivated me to explore my own creativity. I hope they do not mind my using their work as a basis for my inspiration, and I am still working to achieve the balance, beauty, and artistry they have exhibited through their respective nature based collages! I will give folks a while to guess what the various panes are comprised of, they should be pretty easy to figure out, later I will insert the proper descriptions of their contents. Completed 2004 age 18 I was inspired by the Japanese artist Hiroshi Senju, who tends to limit his colors in his paintings. Sometimes he paints an image where the background is the complimentary colors of the subject. His style is simple but at the same time intense, where the foreground stands out from the complimentary background. Medium: Watercolors This is a painting done in my sketchbook. The paper isn’t watercolor paper, but at least more durable than regular printing paper. Taken on Saturday evening, February 7th, near Geelong after a day of record-breaking temperatures (47.6 C or 118 F) and, tragically, the worst bushfires in our state’s history with towns virtually wiped out, hundreds of homes lost and, as I write, a death toll of 28 which is expected to rise when rescuers enter areas which were unreachable during the firestorm. I felt voyeuristic and very sad capturing this brilliant sunset caused by so much disaster just a hundred or so kilometres away. I only hope that those who are missing are found alive and that those who have suffered tragedy will somehow find the strength to rebuild their lives. A testament to my elderly parents who lost their home and everything they owned in the 1983 Ash Wednesday bushfires and a tribute to their resilience in starting again.
