FUSIONartPHOTOGRAPHY.com Feature artist for the GROUP:EXPERIMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY and EDITING. This creation is about my return to Melbourne after eight exciting and event filled years living in Japan and China . Regular trips home to see family and friends had not really prepared me for that emotional roller coaster ride that many experience after the conclusion of an overseas assignment. / Initially, when living in countries where the language is foreign ,one delves deep inside oneself and adjusts by becoming more observant to compensate. The experience is beyond description. / Upon returning home ones’ city has become a mystery. Eye contact/ a smile meant so very much in the re-adjustment period as after such a long period away ,one really belongs nowhere and maybe the heart will always now remain in 3 places and so we have “Mysterious Melbourne” / “ A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” / Essence of Ancient Wisdom/ Asia

This guy was pretty cool, sitting there minding his own business, and I just had to get the shot. But as I lifted the camera and looked through the lens he just broke into this mean stare into the lens like he was gonna hurt me. I saw it and quickly pressed the shutter. Later I complimented him on his tattoos and showed him the shot and it was then that his frown turned into a broad grin…phew!

La Rue Obscure is the oldest street in the old town of Villefranche sur Mer on the French Riviera, between Nice and Monaco. It was built on virgin soil at the beginning of the 13th century. La Rue Obscure formed the basis of the rest of the town’s construction on the slopes rising from this coastal lane. It gave inhabitants of the town certain refuge against possible attacks. The ship captains who were forced by storms to anchor in the bay, could make necessary repairs in safety. La Rue Obscure also welcomed precious merchandise, such as wine, in its cellars.

In this abstract, I have attempted to capture the essence of an Arabic street market scene. / I worked quickly and used instinct and subconscious, rather than technical composition skill. I have used glued painted paper shapes, then painted an impressionist watercolour scene around the collage. 16th Sept 2008 update. / I’m currently working on a larger, watercolour-only, version of this 14”x10”. / less abstract and more real, but with impressionistic aspects.

Corfe Castle is a ruined castle, village and civil parish in the English county of Dorset. The castle dates back to the 11th century, and commands a gap in the Purbeck Hills on the route between Wareham and Swanage. Even to this day, all road traffic to and from the Swanage area must pass below the battlements of the castle. The picturesque village of Corfe Castle lies in the gap below the castle, and is some eight kilometres (five miles) south-east of Wareham, and the same distance west of Swanage. Both the current main A351 road to Swanage, and the Swanage Railway, thread their way through the gap and the village. The civil parish of Corfe Castle stretches across the width of the Isle of Purbeck, with coasts facing both the English Channel and Poole Harbour. It therefore includes sections of both the low lying sandy heathland that lies to the north of the castle, and the rugged Jurassic Coast upland to the south. Man sleeping on the pavement in the French Quarter of Pondicherry. I was struck by the complimentary colours in the scene while driving by and stopped to take a few pics. Then the sadness took over. Nikon D80 / Tamron 28-300 VC / f/5.6 @ 1/20 sec ISO 100 Pondicherry was a French colony till as recently as 1963.
