Your love’s a gathered storm I chased across the sky / A moment in your arms became the reason why / And you’re still the only light that fills the emptiness / The only one I need until my dying breath / And I would give you everything just to / Feel your open arms / And I’m not sure I believe anything I feel And now, now that you’re near / There’s nothing more without you / Without you here And I’m trying to believe / In things that I don’t know / The turning of the world / The color of your soul / That love could kill the pain / Truth is never vain / It turns strangers into lovers / And enemies to brothers / Just say you understand / I never had this planned And now, now that you’re near / There’s nothing more without you / Without you here / Without you here / There’s nothing more without you / Without you here My head lies to my heart / And my heart it still believes / It seems the ones who love us are the ones / That we deceive / But you’re changing everything / You’re changing everything in me And now, now that you’re near / There’s nothing more without you / Without you here (lyrics – Without You Here -Goo Goo Dolls) *S E L F P O R T R A I T morph 1

Mixed media – ink, acrylic, collage on canvas. / Work exhibited in the Visual Arts Association Group Exhibition ‘Four Seasons’, held Cairns Regional Gallery, Qld. / Theme – ‘The Four Seasons’ by Vivaldi Background: I had working individually on art compositions relative to my passion to interpret music, rhythm/movement and energy through the use of formal visual art elements ie. line, colour, tone, shape, texture and art media. The interpretation requires one’s senses to hear and feel, absorb sound and energies, to internalize and contemplate, as apposed to recording information seen/perceived through the eyes from the physical ‘outer’ world. One has to create and interpret a visionary abstract, from a pure transitional and spiritual sensual state, from one’s own internal environment, of knowledge, understanding and experience. I jumped at the chance when this exhibition theme came up. Also I am much inspired by Kandinsky and his work, a long time favourite art philosopher and mentor. ....................................... /
Recently we did a test shoot for two really funny and crazy guys who also happen to make music together, Jase and Tom after their manager aeris saw my stuff on RedBubble and decided I am shit hot at what I do. (I’m working on the modesty bit, I swear.) Anyway they really really didn’t want to do a photo shoot in a smelly, public, and damp mens’ toilet so naturally I nagged at them until they relented. Then the first thing their manager said upon viewing this image was “That one’s for RedBubble!” So here it is.

One of my all time favourite songs / a Canon A540 Powershot / a tiny halogen downlight / and me…. Kiss From A Rose – Seal
my lovely friend ~Migdul gave me the lineart of one of his paintings he is making. so I digitally illustrated it first, and then went crazy over it. took me a long time, churning out the details.
I put the phrase on the top and bottom of the picture to show how much some people can get involved in music, letting it take over their lives and actions. like when something bad happens on the news, and they use music or musicians to put the blame on… i guess it was kinda my answer to that. The pose of the woman was based on patricia from the horrorpops – one of my fav bands. if you look on the cover of their album ‘hell yea’ then you can see where the inspiration came from. —-—-—-——- Thank You For Viewing / Original By Emma Black / Do Not Use Without Permission
