This intimate, bright yet dark, static yet flowing, autumn themed image was made in Baxter State Park, Maine, USA in October 2006. I like the contrast of the flowing water beneath the still branches, the pop of color from the remaining birch leaves, and the juxtaposition of the branch atop the stream in tone and color! /

If you look closely you can see two trains in this one. Firstly there is the blur of one on the left track heading away from the camera and then there is one approaching on the right track. I’ve deliberately left in it’s yellow light beam… Can you see them try viewing it large.. This was taken on the same night as Departure /

I had some fun in low light with a roll of insulation tape. / All of these photographs except for the bottom right corner (which is a straight macro) were achieved ‘in-camera’ using low light, long exposure, panning. Best viewed LARGE

Beautiful dawn light at Wembury on the South Devon coast. The multi-coloured lichen covered slices of bedrock jutting out of the sea at an acute angle in the forground give clues to the geological composition of this Special Area of Conservation. Acrylic mixed media on canvas, inks used then hit with water spray, tilting canvas to created the desired result, Acrylic paint straight from the tube onto the canvas, hit with water spray and then hands in swishing and swirling the colours to create the background….Without loosing the pure colour…...The birds were placed in with very little brush work, again using the dulux house paint for texture in the feathers and my trusting hairdresing comb to spread the paint…. / Original for sale…. 1500cm x 950cm / created around the same time as Summer Love Song, in a different style, this has more movement and freedom in the background, and more colour in the birds…. / enjoy guys Cheers Kym
