I have been waiting for this kind of shot for a long time. The storms were fierce with a ton of rain last night. I decided to take of work and spend the day at the falls near my house. I must have snapped 200 pictures today. What a great day!! I found a new toy its my infrared lens. I was spoiled for seascapes last week….as I am sure you will discover….tee hee! And yes Stuart…this is where I phoned you from. This was taken on the Plage De Pleuren in Brittany, France. Shot in RAW…some noise reduction and a tweak of the levels and thats it….....I have a number of shots from this area. I could have stayed in that part of Brittany for 6 months and photographed a different rocky cove every night…spoiled for choice!

This image was captured at Marsaxlokk, a quaint little fishing village in Malta. The water was a little murky and kind of greasy, no doubt caused by the diesel from the boats. This has probably caused the paint-like effect that seems prelevant in this image. I tweaked the brightness and colour saturation in photoshop but otherwise this picture is pretty much as is! It was a sunny day and that helped the colours to come out nicely..

I had not seen any sunflowers this year until these growing in the corner of a field yesterday. My daughter started one off in a pot yonks ago and its still to flower and summer is almost done. OK, many people ask me how I get my black and white photos done, and most of the time I try my hardest to explain it all through a reply email. But recently a bubbler bubblemailed me and asked, so THIS time I figured I’d draw one up. So 4 hours later and I think Im done. WARNING: LARGE LARGE LARGE FILE!! WILL TAKE A WHILE TO DOWNLOAD But once downloaded, I suggest that you right-click and SAVE, so you dont have to come back each time. =) And another thing – sorry if there is incorrect spelling, punctuation etc. I didnt read over it! OKIE DOKIE – so for starters, pick a image you would like to turn into black and white. Ive made this tut to suit a portrait photo. You can do it with landscape, etc. Just with some common knowledge of where to edit and put things. Shouldn’t be too hard! So here is my orginal: / This is a photo of my mate Tristan. Pretty plain photo of him sitting in the car, on our way to the races. =) HERE WE GO! WOO-LAH! I also just edit to get rid of his moles, etc. That might be my next tutorial – haha! Hope this helps guys! Feel free to comment if you need help etc. I’ll try and do my best to answer them for you!

This door detail was photographed in Avanos, a small town in the Cappadocia region of central Turkey. The bright colors and old wood of houses and doors in these small towns are often beautiful and always intriguing. The splintered wood, tooled brass lock and handle, and encroaching shadow give this piece a sense of mystery for me.

March 13th 2008 a property on Range Road at Willunga, known as ‘Yurunga’ that was burned to the ground approximately 50 acres of natural scrub land was lost in the fire. Courageous CFS fire fighters risked their own lives to save the property.
