The Sydney Royal Easter show is a chance for the country to come to town and show the city people where their food comes from. One part of the show is the display of the produce from each country region in New South Wales. The best display wins a prize. I could not resist taking a picture of the Apple display. Photo Taken: 11-Apr-2006 / Time: 3pm / Conditions: In a relatively dark hall….lighting was “all over the place” :-)
I love ferns but can’t grow them here very well, too cold. I found this one on the coast, they are gorgeous.

This is York’s Ouse Bridge crossing the river Ouse that splits the city into two at around 4.55am, when the lights of the city start to fade into the coming dawn. Even at this low level, you get a sense of the speed of this river.
Took this image at Mullaway beach…lots of the rocks that are above the normal tide line have these lovely bright coloured lichens covering them!!!

I love the Willow Pattern….. I have fond memories of finding hundreds of broken willow pattern shards buried in the dirt near my home as a young child. It was the site of an old homestead that burnt to the ground many years before my time. / I’d spend hours digging in the dirt thinking I’d found some exotic treasure…..... “Two birds flying high, / A Chinese vessel, sailing by. / A bridge with three men, sometimes four, / A willow tree, hanging o’er. / A Chinese temple, there it stands, / Built upon the river sands. / An apple tree, with apples on, / A crooked fence to end my song.” / by Mary L. Stollard The Willow Pattern was designed by Thomas Minton around 1790, & has remained popular ever since. [canon 1000D, bamboo from sxc.hu] Featured – Nostalgic Art & Photography – June 2009 /
