The patterns suggested for this calender came from an abstract painting. There were thousand of pattern inside the painting where i abstract them and make them as another abstract painting. That is why the description of these pattern was about ’ a pattern in abstract painting’.

As I travel around certain, shapes, patterns, lines and colours catch my attention. Often not in a manner for which they were designed. Sometimes a section of a building, car body, or wall when seen in isolation rather than the whole of which they are part, gives them a whole different feel.

My love of abstracts inspired me to create this calendar for my sister, featuring some of my favourite photos exploring colour and texture.
Some of my favourite shapes and patterns from around the world. / Photos taken in my travels from 2004 to 2009 and are from Belgium, Thailand, Laos, India, Peru, Brunei and China.
