  • I sit here today, all by myself with plenty of thoughts in my head. This was a thought on paper. I don’t know what it means, but I think it’s pretty darn cool. Enjoi!

  • I was wandering around the Tripoli Medina (the old city) and came across these 3 doors. All different and unique. • Gaia is our only home, and the key to her future lies in our hands. If we sustain her well, we can keep her doors open to reveal her beauty, and invite the neighboring sunlight to accompany us. • Corfe Castle is a ruined castle, village and civil parish in the English county of Dorset. The castle dates back to the 11th century, and commands a gap in the Purbeck Hills on the route between Wareham and Swanage. Even to this day, all road traffic to and from the Swanage area must pass below the battlements of the castle. The picturesque village of Corfe Castle lies in the gap below the castle, and is some eight kilometres (five miles) south-east of Wareham, and the same distance west of Swanage. Both the current main A351 road to Swanage, and the Swanage Railway, thread their way through the gap and the village. The civil parish of Corfe Castle stretches across the width of the Isle of Purbeck, with coasts facing both the English Channel and Poole Harbour. It therefore includes sections of both the low lying sandy heathland that lies to the north of the castle, and the rugged Jurassic Coast upland to the south. The name “Corfe” is derived from the Saxon word for gap. All photographs and artworks in this portfolio are copyrighted and owned by the artist, Anne Staub. • The ring is on my hand, And the wreath is on my brow; / Satin and jewels grand Are all at my command, / And I am happy now. And my lord he loves me well; But, when first he breathed his vow, / I felt my bosom swell- For the words rang as a knell, / And the voice seemed his who fell In the battle down the dell, / And who is happy now. But he spoke to re-assure me, And he kissed my pallid brow, / While a reverie came o’er me, And to the church-yard bore me, / And I sighed to him before me, Thinking him dead D’Elormie, / “Oh, I am happy now!” And thus the words were spoken, And this the plighted vow, / And, though my faith be broken, And, though my heart be broken, / Here is a ring, as token / That I am happy now! Would God I could awaken! For I dream I know not how! / And my soul is sorely shaken Lest an evil step be taken,- / Lest the dead who is forsaken / May not be happy now. ... • I discovered this door as I was walking down a backstreet in a small village in Portugal. It is clearly showing the signs of ageing but at the same time is exploding with character. I am sure that this door has many memories and many many stories to tell.

This photography is a door’s detail from Lyon (France). There are many like this around my house. This detail is around 30cm long. I’ve choosen it because of the metalic rusted hinge. This rust appears under the old but powerful peeling paint with many different colours. These coloured contrasts are stunning in huge size print !
