We all know this feeling! This is my favourite design because it’s wild and cute at the same time. I took this photo at the Melbourne Zoo while on work experience and had fun playing around with it on the computer.

Wilsons Promontory – ‘The Prom’, 2008 Have managed this summer to get out there and surf a bit. Lately just me, my board and my camera down the coast, tenting it and basically taking time out for myself. After a few hours in the water you get this kind of fuzzy peaceful feeling inside, equal parts exhaustion and elation. I love that headspace of daydreaming, and find it a really inspirational state for visual ideas to come to the surface.
Ok so as the story goes… this was right place right time with a camera and imagination…. / I had just taken Dylan (son, featured) to the park for his afternoon play and was carrying around my Canon 20D (getting old now.. poor baby) and 50mm lens.. When we spotted this tiny little heart on the ground.. 1+1=2.. :D (I think?)

Model – Meluxine This is about as ghetto as studio-esque lighting gets. / It’s called daylight. / I know, weird hey. And it’s so cheap it’s scary. Copyright 2008 Harmony Nicholas ps. if you happen to own/know of this ‘pasta’, I would strongly advise against trying to eat it. The model’s only just getting her taste buds back.
Hand drawn and rendered… Saint Death (also known as La Santísima Muerte, and Doña Sebastiana), is a religious figure who receives petitions for love, luck, and protection. Although the Catholic Church has attacked the worship of Saint Death as a pagan tradition, many people insist on praying to this figure for miracles. Those who pray to this figure are often seeking the recovery of health, stolen items, or kidnapped family members. Saint Death is often depicted as a female figure, dressed as a grim reaper with a scythe and scales; also she can be dressed in a long white satin gown and a golden crown. In this form, many devotees view her as a variation of the Virgin Mary. / Some believe the cult of Saint Death originated from ancient witchcraft; however, Saint Death may have his/her roots in pre-Christian beliefs of the Aztec Native Americans who worshiped a similar figure by the name of Mictlantecuhtli, the god of death, along with his wife, Mictecacihuatl. The Day of the Dead (El Día de los Muertos in Spanish) is a holiday celebrated mainly in Mexico and by people of Mexican heritage. Family and friends gather to pray for and remember friends and relatives who have died. Many people believe that during the Day of the Dead, it is easier for the souls of the departed to visit the living. During the period most people visit the cemeteries where their loved ones are buried and decorate their graves with ofrendas, or offerings, often including orange marigolds called “cempasúchitl” (now usually called “Flor de Muerto” (“Flower of the Dead”)). These flowers are thought to attract souls of the dead to the offerings. A common symbol of the holiday is the skull (colloquially called calavera), which celebrants represent in masks, and foods such as sugar skulls, which are inscribed with the name of the recipient on the forehead. Sugar skulls are gifts that can be given to both the living and the dead. Some people believe that possessing “dia de los muertos” items can bring good luck. Many people get tattoos or have dolls of the dead to carry with them. The artist recommends a lighter colour tee for maximum detail. A darker tee will hide the black line work.

“Listen a hundred times; ponder a thousand times; speak once.” / - TURKISH PROVERB My son Kane had no idea I was photographing him at this time…He was just wondering sweetly along a path in a local parkland area when suddenly he stopped and leaned on the fence. I honestly could not believe what I was seeing through my viewfinder when he did it. Then when I saw the photograph it just blew me away. Kane is 3 years old in this photograph. This is my all time favourite photograph I’ve taken with my DSLR to date. Played with the colour version in photoshop and am very pleased with the outcome. I decided to get my daughter out on photoshoot. Took her down to the river bank and sat her up on this big rock there that has a plaque of some desciption on top of it. Thought i’d put a flower in her hands for something a little extra. When I got home and looked at the pictures a decided to try doing it in black and white with the red flower. Looks great i think! This is the Glenelg pier, Adelaide. I spent at least 10 mins waiting for people coming and going to clear out so I could get a shot of the pier alone. As you can see, this didn’t happen. Turns out, I prefer the activity in this one! Added a texture from www.deviantart.com stock and blanched out the colour form both texture and photo. Added an omni filter for lighting effect and slight adjustment of contrast. We should never forget to Honour those Men and Woman who fought and fight to protect us against tyranny. I’d like to say thank you to Stuart Chapman ( The Tide Is Often Out ) and Philip Golan Remember Them for allowing me to use their images Thank you soo much. FOR THE FALLEN With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children / England mourns for her dead across the sea, / Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit, / Fallen in the cause of the free. Solemn the drums thrill: Death august and royal / Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres, / There is music in the midst of desolation / And glory that shines upon our tears. They went with songs to the battle, they were young, / Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow, / They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted, / They fell with their faces to the foe. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: / Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn / At the going down of the sun and in the morning / We will remember them. They mingle not with their laughing comrades again, / They sit no more at familiar tables of home, / They have no lot in our labour of the daytime, / They sleep beyond England’s foam. But where our desires and hopes profound, / Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight, / To the innermost heart of their own land they are known / As the stars are known to the night. As the stars shall be bright when we are dust, / Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain, / As the stars that are stary in the time of our darkness, / To the end, to the end, they remain.
