Baby rainbow lorikeet in protea
The Short-Clawed Otter (Aonyx cinerea), also known as the Oriental Small Claw Otter, is currently listed as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). This small mammal is the smallest of the otters, but, unfortunately, they remain somewhat of a mystery because of lack of research and study. / As its name suggests, the Short-Clawed Otter has claws that are much smaller than other otters’. Also unlike other otters, their paws are almost like hands, very slightly webbed

This is obviously not an original idea, and I want to thank both ECGardner and Angelique Brunas for their works along these lines that motivated me to explore my own creativity. I hope they do not mind my using their work as a basis for my inspiration, and I am still working to achieve the balance, beauty, and artistry they have exhibited through their respective nature based collages! I will give folks a while to guess what the various panes are comprised of, they should be pretty easy to figure out, later I will insert the proper descriptions of their contents. As always I can not say often enough how wonderful the Redbubble community is and how happy I am to have found it during it’s infancy so that I may grow along with it into a more complete and accomplished artist! / / / / Portfolio Areas / / Tigers / Wildlife / Macro / Landscape / Birds / Abstracts / Cats~wild and domestic
A photograph of two wet lorikeets on a rainy afternoon, taken in the artist’s garden.
painted in water colours on quality w/c paper / The back ground is air brushed to give that out of focus fx / Painted mainly for reproductions
Painted in olis on canvas applied to masonit / The background was hand painted, as with water colour I may have used an air brush, but not with oils none of my paintings are direct copies of photographs, photos are only used as references. None of my works are digitaly altered in anyway What you see is a direct photo from the original painting

I just love painting elephants, and trying to come up with different colour combinations, it’s amazing the colours that one can make, with just four or five tubes of colour This one is painted in Acrylics on canvas and measures 1200×600 mm Although the main elephant occupies nearly half of the canvas, I wanted the direction of the clouds, the earth, and the light, to guide the eye to the smaller elephants, thus giving them just as much importance to the painting.
A profile shot of a guineafowl taken in the Shimba Hills Reserve in Kenya. I’m not exactly sure which species, possibly Helmuted or Vulturine., but dosn’t really look like either. If you know please let me know. The background is natural and has not been edited in anyway. Featured in Indiginous to East Africa Group / Animals of Africa / The Beauty of Nature
A beautiful Red-Eyed Tree Frog. Taken at Comboyne, NSW. Another peacock feather pic. Ive always been fascinated with the colours of peacocks, and the way they fan their tail feathers out. They are one of the most magnificent looking birds. Taken with a Canon 5D and 100-400mm L Series Lens. Could make a nice greeting card?
Its an experiment…trying for selective colour in a crop of wild beauty / and after wrestling for hours with a pesky lasso i managed to briefly subdue it (a first!) and then fumbled the keyboard…arriving somehow at this after rubbing out some scruffy bits. Comments most welcome (will brace myself) and especially tips would be much appreciated! Thanks for looking ! Cheers ding / :))))) / / /
