I was playing around with filters in photoshop one day and got this. I love it and it shows off the personality of a bichon so well – haughty, regal, an “I deserve all the attention you are going to bestow on me for I am bichon” type of thing. It also really heightens the whole “i look like a soft toy crossed with a baby seal” thing they have going on. Now…if only I could remember which filters in what order!!

Rottweiler in a pick up truck. The Rottweiler, or Rottweil Metzgerhund, is a large dog breed originating in Germany as herding dogs. It is a hardy and very intelligent breed. Early Rottweilers worked as beasts of burden, carrying wood and other products to market. During the first and second World Wars, Rottweilers were put into service as war time guard dogs. Currently they are frequently used as guard and police dogs. The Rottweiler was first recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1931. Portrait session with Katy, my 15 year old Jack Russell terrier X Chihuahua. She has several tumours now and we don’t know how much longer we are going to have her, but she still enjoys her food and a good walk :-) We got her from a rescue centre in 1998 after she was abandoned by travellers who left her in a field and moved on without her. She has always been a wonderfully natured dog, very affectionate and trusting. Taken with a Panasonic Lumix DMC FS5
