Don’t estimate one person’s power / This person will can be more determine then five people combine / This person can have easily tipped the scale with amount of personality / That stored in him/she How heavy or strong this person / Could a single human race change the course of the world? / What can we expect is that a person can be a rock, thrown into an ocean / Is bound to course ripple effects But you did have to wonder two people are always better then one / What can we least expect is to judge someone without knowing him or her? / Make false knowledge by just taking one look at the person. © By Hung Lin 2007
For me summer holiday memories are all about bare feet, the sea, the smell of aerogard and barbeques, and long days and warm nights often spent in a caravan park by the ocean. This piece is about all of that, but I also wanted to infuse it with a bit of darkness and mystery …Holiday villages are so full of life and colourful characters by day, but at night when all have gone to bed and secured their temporary little homes, they can be quite strange and creepy…
Freeway underpass – Downtown Guangzhou, China, 2008 “There are crossing lines marked out around the square of the intersection, but basically people will take any criss-crossing line from one side to the other…and the lights and the traffic dont really phase them too much at all! This is a very calm moment the morning after the Chinese New Year celebrations.”
Chefchaouen is a city in northwest Morocco. It is the chief town of the province of the same name. Chefchaouen is situated in the Rif Mountains, just inland from Tangier and Tetouan. The city was founded in 1471, as a small fortress which still exists to this day, by Moorish exiles from Spain to fight the Portuguese invasions of northern Morocco. It was known as one of the main concentrations of Moriscos and Jews who sought refuge in this mountainous city after the Spanish Reconquista in medieval times. In 1920, the Spanish seized Chefchaouen to form part of Spanish Morocco. They returned the city after the independence of Morocco in 1956. The name ‘Chefchaouen’ refers to the shapes of the mountain tops that tower over the town, that look like the two horns (chaoua) of a goat. It literally means “look at the horns”. The blue-rinsed houses and buildings, are a tradition that comes from the town’s former Jewish population. (Care of Wikipedia) / The Blue City II

This image was made during my trip to South America at a market on the way to Bolivia.(Pays to have your camera with you at the ready).
A bit of fun I had, messing around with an abstract painting that didn’t work out, but from which shapes and forms seemed to arrive. Greenwich park is near to where I live. I love standing at the top looking out over the river at the docklands and at London beyond. This is perhaps what it might look like with palm trees and elephants! Wax, pastels and gouache on fabriano 240g watercolour paper.
