Young children work in pastels and these are, perhaps, the most beautiful colours of all. Yesterday saw my artist and her partner taking a trip to the very first dancing concert of her three year old niece. Dancing is one of my favourite forms of expression and I was delighted to join her for the trip out to the country. The performance was at a school hall in The Dandenongs and thus a pleasant car ride away from the city fumes. My artist spent years hiking in the area and returning to it is always a peaceful and inspiring adventure. The spectacular views and enchanting scents in the air tickle my colours and leave me itching to create. Spanning about an hour, the concert was magnificent. The two to three year olds showed us how to be dancing bears and bees, raining their blooming colours over the audience. Of course, if they didn’t stop to wave or run out into the audience occasionally, what sort of show would it have been? The senior classes gave us jazz, tap and classical with all their teenage awkwardness- reminding me of my artists own teenage years and the clutzy confusion they had borne. Hindsight is such a delectable thing and she chuckled at them, understanding with a comprehension that only experience can bring. Having seen the morning show, my artist and her partner spent a lazy afternoon of mountain treats and restful parks. Whilst she rested in the shade of a stone gazebo, I left to explore from a height I could only reach alone. Gliding above the trees, I inhaled the crisp air and spied upon the bushwalkers and picnickers below. Wisping through trees in a shady valley, I spied a young joey tentatively taking his first hops for his mother. His limbs swayed with newness and I smiled as I realised that the colours of baby animals are also pastels and just as beautiful as those of children. I re-joined my artist as they were leaving the hills to return home with my colours tingling in my fingertips. As my exhausted artist slept during the journey home, I whispered her a gentle tune, hoping that her dreams would have her awaken inspired and bring my rainbow to life.

Hi! Yes, that’s me with a framed up painting of “Love Meditations” and my little owl finger puppet toy named Ophelia too! I was at a joint exhibition’s opening ceremony here in Bangkok,Thailand yesterday evening, I’m currently having 7 of my paintings exhibited there, one of which is “Love Meditations”. There are slightly more than 100 budding artists involved…so there are many many paintings to view and enjoy :D If anyone of you is in Bangkok right now(I know the chances are super slim), do drop by for the show if you can :DThat little happy boy whom I am posing with….his mum is a great supporter of my works and had bought a few from me previously:D I dont normally look this orange, it’s the lighting in the hall and my cam :D
