  • Today I was on a hike from Glendoll( long wide valley which gradually narrows as we reached the summit on that stretch) In the Highland region and we returned via two hill tops and a ridge – very, very tiring as there were 40/60 mph winds reducing the temp to -20 deg on the tops – we got snow up to two inches and the hike down a steep hill from 2700 ft to the valley below was through deep heather and lighter snow -was hard on the knees! / The weather in the morning was blue skies. We saw herds of Red Deer and came across the horse tracks with drops of blood!! Horses are used to take the bodies of the shot deer down the hillsides. Sad really but they are on a hind cull just now. This is the start point!! I’ll upload the tops!!

  • Hubbard Hills, Louth, Lincolnshire on a cold and frosty autumn morning

  • This was taken last spring in the Cape le Grande National Park, some 55 kms east of Esperance on Western Australia’s Southern Ocean coast and around 750 kms south east of Perth. / The colour everywhere was just unbelievable, as it almost always is during our springtime and there would have been perhaps 25 different species of wildflowers growing in this section of bush. I should add that we are on the side of Frenchman’s Peak which is a prominent landmark for many miles around. / Camera Sony Alpha 350 with 18-70 lens / x4 neutral density filter / Aperture f8 / Hand held

  • The wonderful rich colours of the fortified medieval village of Eze perched on a narrow rocky peak up in the hills overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, France. Quite a tourist attraction now, it has been beautifully restored. / I climbed the ancient path up the hills from Eze Sur Mer where I had got off the train from Nice a short distance away, not actually realising the only way to get up there from the coastal Eze was pretty much a mountain track! and of course I was the only one on it! I swear I badly needed oxygen after an hour of climbing but wow once you got there, what a treat. / Make sure you get there early though, I arrived just before 9am just as the shopkeepers were opening up and before any other tourists got there so i was able to savour the beauty and atmosphere. /

  • The foothills at Champion Lakes, in the Southern Suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. Looks like a bushfire has gone though the area, as all the trees are burnt out along the left side of the hill in this photo. EOS 500D. You can read about this photo shoot in MY BLOG
