KvB ex-student of mine Ingrid graduated last year winning the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers, NSW Portfolio of the Year Award 2007…needless to say damn proud of her. Model: Liz. I retouched face, hair & recreated arched eyebrows for further definition; left eye was ‘opened’ up to match right eye. Ingrid added b/w desaturated tone, painted lips, bodice lace & sheet in red tone. Original before shot image below.

having given myself the afternoon to spend with redbubble I’ve decided to post a wildcard image into the fashion competion. Originally shot on velvia in available light and if you look really closely the model has a camera in her crotch. :) / This is a companion image to “Bloom” these look really good framed. hint hint :)

Migaloo is a mixed media production on canvas textured paper. Gazing out to sea on a warm summer day, she notices something, some movement further out to see, was that a splash or just the sea crashing on a bombie or coral reef out there? squinting…..squinting…..squinting…..... oh my! it’s a white whale!....Migaloo no less!

P/S Retouched by Ange. Digital Photograph shot by Stak Constantinou. (2007). Model: Ashley. Hair & Makeup: Gemma Parsons. I retouched/airbrushed higher facing shoulder, a blemish on the arm & evened out fringe hairline with emphasis on the eyebrows for further definition (filling them in). Also added extra hundreds & thousands to the outer edges of her lips were they’d come off during the shoot. Model (& photographer) were initially put off with the styling & she couldn’t even speak with the stuff stuck to her lips but it worked a treat for the shoot. Photographer Stak is a colleague of mine (photography lecturer at Raffles – KvB). Always a pleasure to work with. Original before shot image below.

/ / Shoes available at zazzle ‘Matryoshka Series’ Card by Karin Taylor Matryoshka on Holiday Purple & Single, is a mixed media production on canvas textured paper using ink, pastel, charcoal and acrylic paint. I would describe it as having strong design aspects. Matryoshka on Hols was born from my passion for vintage wooden dolls…I thought how cute it would be to dress her in some holiday gear, especially since Russia is usually a very cold place from what I hear…it’s nice to give her a break in a nice warm sunny climate such as Australia :D and and I’ve taken the liberty of giving her a bit of gypsy flair! Maybe she’ll like Australia and decide to stay here? / Maybe she’ll like wearing this bikini and buy some more in different colours? / Maybe she’ll pop up again somewhere when you least expect it, in a vivid array of daring colours! / or…maybe she’ll go home to Russia and we’ll see her in some traditional dress sometime? We’ll just have to wait n see! She could pop up anywhere, any time hehe
