Recently I was offered the opportunity to shoot the 2009 Mardi Gras in Sydney, which has been a very new but also an exciting and fun experience for me. The Different Light series is from the Harbour Party event which at times for me resembled a typical music festival, except there was no angst, fights, idiots, louts etc etc etc. Had an excellent time and very much appreciate the opportunity to be part of it. It’s Saturday 7th March 2009 a few hours before the beginning of the Sydney GLBTI Mardi Gras Parade! While walking through the park these colourful balloons captured my eye so I took a shot. In order to make the colours of the balloons and the people who were also dressed quite colourful stand out more I would use selective colouring.
