FUSIONartPHOTOGRAPHY.com Feature artist for the GROUP:EXPERIMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY and EDITING. This creation is about my return to Melbourne after eight exciting and event filled years living in Japan and China . Regular trips home to see family and friends had not really prepared me for that emotional roller coaster ride that many experience after the conclusion of an overseas assignment. / Initially, when living in countries where the language is foreign ,one delves deep inside oneself and adjusts by becoming more observant to compensate. The experience is beyond description. / Upon returning home ones’ city has become a mystery. Eye contact/ a smile meant so very much in the re-adjustment period as after such a long period away ,one really belongs nowhere and maybe the heart will always now remain in 3 places and so we have “Mysterious Melbourne” / “ A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” / Essence of Ancient Wisdom/ Asia

Work exhibited in the Visual Arts Association Group Exhibition ‘Four Seasons’, held Cairns Regional Gallery, Qld. / The exhibition theme was inspired by the Vivaldi’s music ‘The Four Seasons’. Mixed media – archival black ink, acrylic, collage – paper painted, mono & screen-printed, drawing, photo; screen-printed cotton fabric, carpet material; on canvas. Background: I had been working individually on art compositions relative to my passion to interpret music, rhythm, movement and energy through the use of formal visual art elements ie. line, colour, tone, shape, texture and art media. The interpretation of any music requires one’s senses to hear and feel, absorb sound and energies, to internalize and contemplate, as apposed to recording information seen/perceived through the eyes from the physical ‘outer’ world. One has to create and interpret a visionary abstract, from a pure transitional and spiritual sensual state, from one’s own internal environment, the knowledge, understanding and experience one brings to canvas for the moments of manifestation. I jumped at the chance when this exhibition theme came up. Also I am much inspired by Kandinsky and his work, a long time favourite art philosopher and mentor. ....................................... /

I uploaded a couple of images a little while ago. They were “OK” but neither had the impact I was looking for so I combined them with a little texture etc. A different feel from the originals, I think??

The painting is based on a photo I took on Dartmoor a few years ago. The light was fantastic and I’ve expanded on that to create this vibrant landscape.

This is an article/interview about how Annie Jones/ gave away her brilliant acting career to care for her mother who was stricken down with ALZHEIMERS. This a MUST read and such a humbling story….... The image created here : my thoughts of Annie ’s mother. I know she was in her 60’s when the reality of life started playing games with her mind but this is how I see what happened .What is real breaks away/becomes segmented…...and all the things one loves become separated…..........something breaks from yesterday The mind so fragile and YES only those very close family members notice the differences in behaviour / at first…....

Its long pointed bracts arch with a particularly pleasing curvature. Its fan shaped clumps, up to 12 feet high, thrive as well in Hawai’i as in its native Costa Rica and Panama. Full sun, ample water, warm air, high humidity, and good soil are all it needs. However, in blooming season, March to May, is short; current research is aimed at expanding its period of availability. Rainbow heliconia resembles giant lobster claw. However, its unopened bracts form a jagged herringbone pattern, its “cheeks” are smaller and its yellow colouration is greenish rather than bright.”: Text quote from the book titled Exotic Tropicals of Hawai’i by Angela K. Coloured Pencil and Ink on 280 gsm Glass Ivory Paper - / (40cm x 60cm) Worked on this one for over a week, through the wee small hours of the mornings. All my art is cathartic, it’s how I balance my life, creating is my reason to go on. When I’m up I create, when I’m down I create, creativity is my balance. I did this as one of my first experiments into coloured pencil art, and found the whole ‘colouring in’ process so very relaxing and calming. I couldn’t help but feel happyness and joy while doing this. I spent every moment I could as a child, laying on my tummy, drawing, colouring.
