  • Thanks to the magic of inspiration, I have produced another painting. As usual, I am tempted to continue fiddling. It may need gold, perhaps… I know we are requested to only put finished images up….it could be finished! We’ll see.

  • “selective vision” ... actually, very selective ! :-p lucky me, that butterfly gave me plenty of time to set my camera and get the diffferent shots I wanted. It was quite impressive how much time it stayed on the leaf ! probably 5 minutes. They usually fear my camera in seconds ! especially when using only a 18-70mm lens! lol / / DLSR Sony A100 + Sony DT 18-70mm 3.5/5.5 lens /

  • “Where there is love there is life.” Rumi Photograph of dragonflies mating, slightly altered with color adjustments and quote added for Challenge – Inspiring Greeting Cards

  • Great as an Easter card, available in my clothing and cards portfolio . The framed format would look great in a nursery or a child’s room. Even grown-ups could find it inspiring in the right setting. There are a lot of symbols in here aside from the obvious. Eggs represent the Creation, the four elements and life itself. It is a powerful symbol of birth and rebirth. The butterfly is a symbol of transformation, love and joy. In some cultures, it is also associated with feminineness, beauty and fragility. More often, we see it representing freedom. This is a composite made of 2 of my flower photos, one abstract of christmas lights manipulated to change the hues to more pastel tones and to give it a twirl , plus one of a butterfly, altered to look like an illustration and used twice here in two different hues. So there are 4 photos in all in the composite and the egg has been created digitally. • The more I was looking at About Life, Birt and Rebirth, the more I thought that it lacked a little something, some punch, character or purpose. So I made another go at it. This time, I used three more textures that I created, plus a mushroom photo that I shot last fall during a photowalk in the mountain in St-Bruno, Quebec. I made a layer of sparkles and starbursts, duplicated and added a slight glow with motion blur to the bottom layer, then lowered opacity. • “Vivid Wings” has placed in Top Ten in the challenge “Vibrant Colours in Nature” in the group à Europa! Small Tortoiseshell is a species often found in gardens. The caterpillars feed on nettles. When threatened, resting individuals rapidly open their wings, presenting the dramatic display of colors. This can frighten away young or inexperienced birds. Photo is taken in Kirkkonummi, Finland August 2008.
