19 February, 2008 It all started with a TV screen shot. I got then inspired to start a series of compositions called The colours of love. This artwork is the first in this series. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it. —- A very dear RB friend of mine surprised me beautifully about a year ago and bought a canvas print of The colours of Love – Mother and child. How do you think I feel when I think this composition is on a wall in Australia? / Crushed. Humbled. Ecstatic. And then crushed again. / / —- 28-13-1302 - 09-11-15 / 35-17-1379 - 09-11-20

/ / It would be such a pity to leave without a comment. Like it? Say so. Don’t like it? Say so too! With a bang, if that fits your style. I’d rather leave a negative impression (on someone) than nothing at all. DullnBoring is not my middle name. Neither my last (I knew you’d probably say that!). As for the first name, it’s on the front page. So, please, leave a note and make my day a beautiful one! Thank you from the heart my friend. / / . / Please view also my other work.. / / Thank you for visiting.

I was listening to Moby and before I knew it this simple cactus shot turned into this… I think Moby was affecting my brain, haha. So enjoy my insanity!
I took a photo of an iris bloom that was wet and put it through a channel mixer and went black and white and then I did the selective color with the water drops in photoshop. Yes, I know-it’s another shot of my favourite lighthouse at Talacre, North Wales. I think I have about exhausted every possible angle now, so i’ll leave it alone in future!

Coloured Pencil and Ink on 280 gsm Smooth Card (A3) (unsure of brand of paper as I’ve had it in my studio for years). We all need to look inwards sometimes, I did this image as a cathartic exercise. Views: 701 as at 09-12-09 FEATURED in ‘Finks of Inks’ December 2009
This photo has not been cross-processed properly, apparently. However, I’d never heard of cross-processing until recently. I’ve read that the term started by developing color print or slide film in the wrong chemicals – for example, color negative film in slide chemicals or slide film by the color negative process. This causes wild color and contrast shifts and requires lots of trial and error. for more, see Dana DiPasquale’s forum page. Apparently a group exists for cross-processing experts, as well. / / However, playing with the RGB channels certainly stretched my tendency for more realistic, staid photos! I played with this photo last night using Sue Wickham’s method and the tutorial that Mary Campbell posted. I used curves and RGB channels in Photoshop and Nikon’s Capture NX2.1 software. / / This is the Capture NX2 version, with a bit of a vignette blur from efex. Original: Nikon D200, Nikkor 70-300mm, 145mm, f/5.6, 1/1000sec, -0.3ev., ISO 200, manual exposure, / Converted from 12-bit RAW to jpeg. Manfrotto tripod. / 2025×3037px
I recently treated myself to a set of Ashleys Photoshop Actions & I have to say that it’s the best money I’ve spent in a long time! / True, these Actions are all things I frequently try to do myself when doing a portrait, but using them has halved my workflow. / Perhaps I should learn to do my own actions…. / I’ve had a lot of fun playing with them this afternoon…...
