Hans was so nice to give me information regarding these lily pads: Here’s the scope on them: “Victoria Amazonica” discovered in 1801 in the Amazonriver in Brasil.He read this information in the Hortus Botanicus in Leiden. An amazing flower! The flower bloomed for the first time in the Hortus in Leiden at 8 july 1872. The leaves can have a diameter of 2,5 meter en can bear a weight of 40 kilo! I visited yesterday in Pennsylvania, USA, Longwood Gardens.
